I sent my parents to West Palm Beach as a 60th anniversary gift! They stayed in the small cottage and had a fabulous time. Grenville was a very gracious host and was very responsive when I was booking this trip. They have a large dog and this was no problem, there was no extra fee involved! Very reasonable rates. Would highly recommend!
My husband, infant daughter, and I stayed at the 1st floor cottage for 8 days. It was a great area with restaurants within walking distance and small shops close by. It was also a very short drive to Palm Beach with lots more to see and do. Grenville was extremely helpful and had tons of knowledge about the area and things we should do. We traveled from PA and there was a pack and play and high chair for us to use for our daughter at no extra cost. It was very clean and in excellent condition. Although the unit was small, we made it work for the week, and were not there for very long periods of time, so it worked out fine. It was in good shape and was very clean with a well-stocked kitchen, and plush towels for use. We had a great time and would like to return again, perhaps to one of Grenville's larger properties in the same area. We were also very pleased with the quick responses from Grenville, especially leading up to our arrival when we had questions about our stay and the area.
This is our third year renting the upstairs cottage from Grenny. The pictures show the facilities well. This year we had both our adult daughters and one dog. There was plenty of room and the kitchen and bath were supplied well for all of us. We particularly love the attention with which the 1920s architecture and decorating have been carefully aligned. Grenny is a gracious host and a font of information about the restaurants and local area. We also love the convenience of walking to excellent, not chain restaurants, and the proximity to the airport, downtown and the beach. We fully concur with all the other reviews and will probably make next summer our fourth visit.
What a delightful and charming cottage on Antique Row. I was working for a week in West Palm Beach and rented the upper one bedroom cottage. Grenville could not have been a more gracious host, pointing out eateries, a wonderful fish market, fresh vegetable market, and other places of interest. It was so comforting to know that at the end of a busy work day, I had a cozy little home to return to rather than a cold hotel. I was even adopted by one of the cats for the week. Truly a delightful experience and will be treasured as one of my fondest travel memories.
We were fortunate enough to stay a week in the upper apartment. The setting is so beautiful with pots of flowers everywhere and mature plantings lining all the walkways and the pool area. The pictures really do not do it justice! The apartment was very clean and every need was attended to; lots of extra towels and bedding, WiFi, cable, laundry room, even basic supplies like salt and laundry detergent. The cottage is convenient to shopping and close to the beach, bike rental is nearby, private parking, I could go on and on.
My two grandchildren LOVED the pool; it was hard to drag them out long enough to eat and sleep. The pool patio is great for sunning or reading and has shade from all the palms for when you get too hot. (Oh, and you have to check out the POOL GUY!!!) There is a separate patio for grilling and/or just sitting and visiting with Grenville and Susan....you will love evening drinks with a fire in the the firepit and the soft sound of flowing water in the background.
This is a wonderful place to relax and/or a good base from which to explore the area (all those Antique and Thrift shops, not to mention beaches, attractions, and good food!) Be sure to eat at Bradley's Saloon in West Palm and the weekend Farmers Market with live bands and local street vendors. Grenville has lived in the area for 25 years and knows all the local restaurants and attractions...ask him about where to eat and he will probably know the restaurant, head chef, and all the waiters' names...he is great!
This was one of my favorite vacations and I hope to return again.
We stayed for a week in the bottom apartment and my first impression was that it was very clean and comfortable. The rooms are Air conditioned and there is very nice carpentry work throughout. The grounds were just as the pictures show on the website, very nicely taken care of with lush palms and my favorite was the giant travelers palm. Grenny the owner is a very nice man and welcomed us as friends. Grenny knows the area very well and told us some of the main attractions in the area and as far as Key West. This was the best vacation we have ever been on and I definitely will be back and I highly recommend staying here. This is definitely a home away from home with great company.
