You have skiing, the summer horseshow, fishing, tennis, swimming, spas, restaurants, shopping, cultural events, and galleries all within minutes from the house.

Experience this recently updated beautifully decorated barn with old world charm and modern amenities on 3 Taconic Road acres. This open and spacious home features exposed beams, old barn wood, original wide plank flooring, unique craftsmanship, a new master bedroom suite with heated floors througout, a marble bath, walk in closet, and private patio. Enjoy the updated kitchen opening to the lr/dr/deck/wet bar/and den, or sit and read in the newly renovated upstairs sitting area. Encompassing 2350 sq. ft., the home is complete with 5+ bedrooms, 3.5 baths, a wood burning fireplace, three car garages, separate guest house equipped with a full bath, and recently renovated decks surrounded by lovely well-cared for gardens. As you relax on the deck, equipped with a new gas grill, adirondack chairs, and outdoor dinning table, you overlook the stream fed pond, beautiful mountain views, and landscaped lawn, lined with mature birches and apple trees. All that, and minutes to a world of wilderness, entertainment, and fine restaurants.

Offered weekly or monthly year round. Weekly rates range from 3000-3500/wk, including utilities. a 9% Vt. rooms tax and a one time cleaning bill are not included. Nightly rental rate is $600-800/night depending on the season.

About Mark Miness

During the week, I live in NYC, but try to spend as many weekends up in Vermont as possible. I bought the house in 2008 when I returned to the NY area in order to give myself a retreat away from all the stress of NYC. I'm always making improvements to the house (new pictures coming soon!), and it just keeps getting better and better. It's a wonderful unique house that lends itself perfectly to spending time with friends and family. I've truly enjoyed every minute spent there and I am sure you will too!

I have wonderful memories of spending time in Vermont with my family as a child. When I was looking for a weekend house, Manchester just seemed like the perfect fit. It's a year round community that offers the best outdoor activities during any season. Additionally, the people are so welcoming and I always feel relaxed in these suroundings. When you get to the house, the stress of every day life just seems to melt away.

What makes this house unique

The house is just minutes away from many activities. We are located at the base of Equinox Mountain, with the trail-head literally a 5 minutes walk from our front door. In addition, we are within walking distance to shopping, Hildene, Equinox Resort, golf, tennis, and so much more. With that said, the house is so inviting and enjoyable that it can sometimes be difficult to leave for any reason.

A Very Special Place

We rented Harley House for the ski season last winter and we'll be renting it again this winter. (The ultimate endorsement, no?) It truly is a special home, offering Vermont charm with a clean and contemporary look and feel. The owner, Mark, has proven to be the best "landlord" we've ever dealt with. He cares deeply for the property and it shows in how he's maintained it. Our only regret is that we haven't yet experienced the place in warm weather. With its large porch and beautiful sprawling lawn, it would make for some really fantastic cocktail hours during the summer.

Great location, beautiful house!

I recently stayed at Harley House for a week during the Vermont Summer Festival horse show. The house was beautiful, and ideally located just around the corner from the Equinoxx Hotel which is an amazing location for dinner or a drink.

The house was a relaxing getaway after spending long hours at the horse show.

The owner of the house was also very easy to work with and accommodating.
