Puerto Vallarta is unique amongst Mexico’s major tourist destinations for its blend of Old World and New World charm. Vallarta certainly provides the restaurants, bars, and art galleries of a major tourist area. The city also offers outstanding outdoor recreation, such as fishing, sailing, surfing, snorkeling, diving, whale watching, mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking. Vallarta retains the original charm and friendly character of a Mexican pueblito.
The downtown area and Romantic Zone are full of cobblestone streets, quaint architecture, and small boutiques. A long boardwalk runs along the beach and is a popular place to stroll, enjoy live music and dance, and peruse the wares of local artists. By day, you'll enjoy Vallarta's unparalleled outdoor recreation, 26 miles of beaches, and countless galleries and boutiques. By night, you'll dine at restaurants from around the world, enjoy live music and theater, people-watch on the malecon, and dance 'til dawn.

We are an American couple. He is a retired attorney, and she runs a small business.
We had been thinking of buying a winter getaway for more than a decade. We recently visited Puerto Vallarta for the first time and immediately fell in love. The climate is ideal, and the town offers a perfect blend of the Old World and the New. We love Vallarta's historic charm: its cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial architecture, and local markets with artisans selling their handicrafts. But we also appreciate Vallarta's modern conveniences: the great restaurants, the boutiques and galleries, the live music and dance, the outdoor recreation.
Plus, because Vallarta has such a large tourist industry, nearly everybody speaks English. Certainly, we make an effort to communicate in our broken Spanish, which the locals generally appreciate. But as a practical matter, English is universal, which makes our vacations stress-free.
The view, the view, the view... and have I mentioned the view?
Our penthouse is 'a villa in the heart of the city.' We enjoy the dazzling views, square footage, serenity, and privacy of a villa. At the same time, we're in the middle of the hotel zone, which makes it absurdly easy to pop out to a nice restaurant, browse through the downtown art galleries, or go jogging along the boardwalk.
Beyond its heart-stopping views and ideal location, our home oozes luxury, elegance, and refinement. The furnishings and artwork are stylish, modern, and of the highest quality. We enjoy an ultra-premium music system that is wired in every room, as well as two private home theaters. The attention to detail is impeccable - even our coffeemaker is arguably the best in the world.
