I started fishing our local rivers in 1982 & immediately fell in love with them. Over the years I've fished many other areas in B.C., Oregon & California which I have also enjoyed but the rivers here have always been special for me due to the diversity of the watersheds & fish. The rivers here hold very large steelhead & salmon. It's one of the few areas in the U.S. that still has good numbers of native steelhead, fish that go over 30 lbs! After many years of fishing with friends & family I was able to move here in 2004 & become a full time guide. I love my job & really enjoy meeting people from around the world

The Owner purchased this lodge in 2007

My day job is as a fishing guide so naturally I also wanted acquire a location for my guests to stay at while they were fishing with me.

Great lodge!

  • 4 of 5
My friends/family and I really enjoyed the lodge and had a great time! I traveled with a group of people and we all needed single beds. Larry was happy to turn the large king sized beds into doubles for us. This was perfect for our needs! Very spacious and very clean place to stay!

A couple of things to note:
This is about a 20 min drive from Forks (the closest town). I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are planning on spending your time there. It's too much of a commute. However, it's a great launch spot for exploring the peninsula! Really close to the turn off to head to Cape Flattery!

We found the kitchen to have mostly everything we needed for our needs. However, they did lack in little things like sugar and even a blender. Not a negative, just something to know

Also - we had one married couple with us on our trip. They opted to sleep in the den where there were sofa beds. These beds are quite worn and the mattress is very thin. Just a heads up there as well.

My one and only real complaint about the stay was that we had the power go out on us one night. We found out later this was a planned outage. I feel like we should have been notified of this so we'd be ready for it to happen. Larry said he completely forgot about it himself. However, there were no extra lights anywhere in the lodge (we found lanterns but the batteries were dead).

Overall, though, great trip/stay! Definitely would stay here again!

Great relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5
For a group of 6 plus one toddler, this was a fantastic getaway. Close to some fantastic hikes, you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Occasionally you hear a car pass on the highway to snap you back to reality. The back deck is a fantastic place to chill and enjoy the forest. The cabin has all the comforts you might expect and then some, even including a washer and dryer, grill, etc. Larry is a fantastic host, who will give you all the attention or space you want.

Wonderful wonderful cabin, would definitely return and whole heartily recommend!

  • 5 of 5
We were 3 families, a couple with 2 small kids, a couple with an infant, and a couple with no kids. We stayed two nights, and I wished we would have stayed longer. The cabin is well equipped (kitchen-wise, wi-fi, etc), very cozy, and have a wonderful little stream that can be seen from the main area and the porch. It is private and located "in the woods". The owner, Larry, was very nice, explained to us everything we needed to know, and gave us the feeling he is there in case we need anything.
I would definitely return and whole heartily recommend!

Heaven in ONP

  • 5 of 5
OMG what a perfect house to explore ONP. It is in the center of everything that you would want to explore, hike, beach hiking etc. We were there for 6 nights for 4th of July 2013 and really enjoyed meeting the owner Larry. House is perfect to just walk in with a suitcase because everything else is already there. And go figure in a rural area there was Wi Fi!!!!! Kitchen was a dream to cook in for breakfast and dinners. Tons of storage. Very comfortable furniture for lounging and relaxing. Master bedroom downstairs has a very comfortable king size bed. Gas fireplace was nice added touch for returning at night from long day of hiking to warm up. Huge beyond huge wrap around deck to enjoy the massive trees and river below. Went every night to Rialto Beach for the sunsets since house was only 20 minutes away. Sol Duc falls and Crescent Lake less than half hour away. So very centrally located. Do yourself a favor an try to stay at this fabulous vacation home. Rich & Chris, Miami, FL
