Awesome place with amazing views
I traveled with three other people back to Manuel Antonio for my birthday, and we stayed in the Casa Luz for a week. This is my favorite beach destination to date, which keeps me coming back. I didn't want to stay in a hotel this time, and chose the convenience of a house. I definitely was not disappointed. I can't say enough good things about Casa Luz. To start, the owner was an absolute pleasure to deal with, and has made sure that all the basics are provided for - cookware, towels, etc - so all you need to do is pick up some food at the market. He is also a great source of information about the area, and can help set up tours if desired. The view of the jungle landscape off the balcony is breathtaking - one that I wish I could wake up to every morning! We ended up seeing monkeys, toucans, sloths, iguanas, and various other creatures just sitting outside eating every day. There are great views in every room of the house, and the property is quiet, well-maintained and conveniently located near the bus stop (only a 10 min ride or less to the beach) if you don't have your own transportation. There are a few little convenience stores along the road by the house for the basics, and a larger store not far from it as well as a great little place for breakfast - Cafe Emilio. We spent a day in Manuel Antonio park, and although we saw some of the local wildlife, I ended up seeing more right in our own backyard. If you want to go on a beach vacation, I would highly recommend the option of renting Casa Luz. I will be going back again, hopefully this year!
