Photos and Description of the Casco vacation house rental
3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6, wrap around deck with picinic table.

We'd love you to spend your vacation in our peaceful house on Parker Pond. We have been renting the house out for many years and people love the area, the house and the lake. The house is facing west and is nestled on a rather steep hill which gives you a lovely view of the lake and distant hills. You can sit on the big wrap around deck, lounge or eat outside on the picnic table, view the sunset. Or walk down the hill to the lake in half a minute, relax on the deck or the float, go for a swim or boat ride in the lake, fish. It is a rather small lake of 1.3 miles by .3 miles and connected by a small brook to a much larger lake across a street. There is another deck on lower level of the house. The house is wooden, with tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen, carpets elsewhere. There are big French doors, covering practically the whole length of the front walls at the main and lower levels. Two stone, working fireplaces in upper and lower level living rooms. Kitchen is very well equipped.

It should be noted that if you want to make a fire in the fireplace, you would have to buy wood locally for that purpose in Maine as it is against the law in Maine to bring wood from another State or from Canada across the State of Maine line.

A delightful get-away in southern Maine!

4 of 5
Submitted: October 11, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
Our stay on Parker Pond was a mixture of days of rain and wonderful fall weather. In both conditions the house was ideal for comfortable indoor activities (although we should have bought out firewood sooner) as well as a convenient base from which to visit the Freyburg Fair (45 minutes west) and the coast (Ogunquit to Wells to Kennebunkport). Our favorite local spot (apart from the pond itself) was the splendid setting on Hackers Hill (less than three miles from the house) with its panoramic views and picnic tables.

The fall foliage in the Casco will be a few weeks later than the the mountains and lakes to the north and west because of the proximity to the coast but this is still a wonderful vacation rental!

Great Place

Submitted: May 21, 2011 Stayed: May 2011
This house is in a great location. It’s located approximately a half hour from Portland and a half hour from the White Mountains. While the house is located in a secluded area it’s not far from Rt. 302 making traveling a breeze. The town of Windham approximately ten miles away has all of your shopping needs along with a few good restaurants.

The house is beautiful with more than enough space for the average family. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware to meet your needs. Unlike other places in the area the neighbors are a good distance away to provide privacy.

The view of the pond from the house is spectacular. By taking a short walk you have a view of the White Mountains. The water quality of the pond is outstanding, very clear for pond water.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the house. I was so impressed with the beauty of the area that I’m considering it as a place to live during retirement.

Great winter vacation super ice fishing

5 of 5
Submitted: February 5, 2011 Stayed: January 2011
We enjoyed our stay ,we sledded and ice fished ,caught 3 to 4 lb Bass consistently, white perch and the occasional brook trout 15 inches.
Ellen is a great communicator and explains everything one would need to know.
The camp is warm and we enjoyed a nice fire nightly in the fireplace. Lots of dishes pots and pans. You can buy firewood just outside Casco village at Hancock lumber,by the trunk load.Walmart sells pine mountain fire logs and they work great.
The grocery store in the village sells live minnows for ice fishing.
I would recommend renting a 4x4 SUV,there are plowed parking places above on the road that give you easy access to the cottage.
If you are looking for a nice winter vacation to cross country ski ,sled or ice fish this is a place I would recommend.

Relaxing Vacation!

5 of 5
Submitted: January 24, 2011 Stayed: January 2011
We rented this property with the intention of having a relaxing vacation, and it is was exactly what we got. While the house is slightly off the beaten path, it is only a short drive to Freeport, Portland and the outlets in New Hampshire. The owners are very kind and helpful, and the home's local caretaker is easily accessible. There was a big snow storm during our stay- the driveway was promptly plowed. The people in the area are very friendly, and there are many great restaurants in the neighboring towns.

The house is clean and well maintained. I would definitely come back again!

Perfect Place for a Week's Escape

Perfect Place for a Week's Escape
Submitted: September 12, 2010 Stayed: July 2010
We really enjoyed ourselves and thought you place was perfect for a week's escape on a Maine lake. Loved the sounds of the Loons. One complaint; we (my father and I) didn't catch any fish. Of course that might have had something to do with the folks behind the fishing poles! But, we didn't go hungry and had lots of fun cooking out and going swimming. Fireworks at Casco days Thurs evening were icing on the cake. Overall a great time was had by all.
