We had a wonderful time at your home, and everything went smoothly. The house was so comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the sunsets from the terrace with wine and cheese. Thomas was an excellent manager , was very responsive to all our questions, and helped set up "adventures" for us. We fell in love with Costa Rica . Thank you!
My wife and I and another couple stayed at this house for 8 nights. We could not have been happier. It is truly an amazing house in an incredible area. We had everything we needed right around the corner. Donna the owner is a wonderful host. We had some possible trouble with the volcano near the airport flying out and Donna was so nice to work with us if we needed had something happened. Fortunately nothing did but it was nice to know she was willing to try and help in any way she could. We did not have a car and there was no need for one. The bus(60 cents) is safe and very convenient or cabs for 5 dollars anywhere you would want to go are also right there. Its not on the list that is provided by the concierge but I suggest using costa rica tropical adventures for your adventures if you are staying at the house. http://www.manuelantoniorafting.com.These guys are amazing and speak very good english. They also live a few houses down from this house so they help you in any way they can. We did two days of adventures with them and they also ended up taking us out salsa dancing one night and to a locals place for dinner one night at no charge just because they are good people. They also took us deep into the jungle to do a natural hot spring while eating lunch with a local family who cultivated everything they cooked for us. It ended up being the best meal we had there. The internet is also very good in the house just in case you wanted to use it. Cant say enough good things about this place and we will be returning to this house when we go back.
We spent the last 5 nights of our vacation at this lovely property. It was the perfect way to bring our stay in Costa Rica to a close. After 10 nights in hotel rooms it was great to be in such a spacious, well-appointed home.
Everything was as presented in the listing and more! We looked forward to each evening on the 3rd floor lanai watching the sunset and taking a dip in the pool.
The location is great, close to the main road where markets, restaurants etc. abound. We bought groceries and ate breakfast and dinner "in" most nights. So relaxing after a busy day of sightseeing, boating etc.
They have thought of everything in this lovely property! So glad we had the chance to stay at Casa Sandra!
We stayed in Casa Sandra for four days; a family of 5(3 teenagers). We really enjoyed our stay in Casa Sandra. It was in the middle of our roundtrip in Costa Rica and because of the nice decorations, the spacious rooms, relaxing sofa’s and super balcony's we felt being at home immediatly.
We loved that the supermarket was very close and with all necessary groceries like good fresh fish and beef. The kitchen was very well equiped to make a fine meal, dining in the spacious room with my family was great, The kids connected their Iphones to the great stereo in order to cheer up dinner ;-)! In the early morning the monkeys surprised us on the balcony playing with the water of the pool. The park of Manuel Antonio is awesome(we went their twice), we took the bus, 3 minute walk and very cheap (running frequently). We did’nt use our car at all. Using the washingmachine and dryer was a plus. We really recommed Casa Sandra. Hazel gave us a warm welcome upon arrival.
My husband and I stayed here for four nights before continuing on to visit other areas of Costa Rica. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home with an incredible view and sunsets! The accommodations were upscale, comfortable and the staff services were very accessible. All our needs were met and then some. The location is perfect for walking or catching a local bus or taxi. The area restaurants and the beaches are wonderful. The monkeys in the trees behind the house, along with the many and varied birds, were really a wonderful chance to be a part of this beautiful country and its inhabitants. This home made the stay just that more wonderful. We highly recommend for a couple or two couples or small family. Pura Vida!
May 29-June 8 2013, Family of 4 includes 17 yr old son, 21 year old daughter.
When we arrived at the airport in San Jose, CR, we were met with a torrential
downpour! Welcome to the rainforest! We loved it. So tropical, so warm, so lush. In the
city limits of San Jose, the green rolling hills beckoned to us to come and explore this
Our driver, William, a local gentleman, gave us a peek into the life of the Costa Rican
people. He was courteous, helpful, and wanted to make sure our 2.5 hour drive to
Manuel Antonio was as comfortable as possible. We stopped along the way for
refreshments, and a few photo ops. The drive didn't seem long at all. Incredible beauty
occupied our time and thoughts and before we knew it, ahead of us was the Pacific
We were greeted at Casa Sandra by Hazel, whose warmth immediately made us feel
very comfortable. Our first impression of Casa Sandra was that it was much bigger than
the photos reflected. What a gorgeous home. And the views - Outstanding! This was our
first impression...and while we were saying our good-bye's on the 10th day, it was our
last impression as well. The home was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the
living room and dining area were spacious. The bathrooms were clean and beautiful.
The balconies, well we practically spent all our time there...We had everything we could
Hazel, along with the guide book specifically created by the Casa Sandra team, were
most helpful for our family in deciding touring activities. We chose the Rainmaker Tour
with Henry as our private guide, be sure to request him (my favorite day ever!), Ziplining
(my husband, son and daughter's favorite day ever!), Massages at Casa Sandra
(lovely!), a Catamaran/Snorkeling adventure (I could have snorkeled all day!), and
Manuel Antonio State Park also with Henry as our guide (Henry actually had a
conversation with a monkey! Dr. Doolittle?).
When you vacation at Casa Sandra and Manuel Antonio, go prepared with excellent
walking shoes. You'll be happy you did when you walk the hills of Manuel Antonio. It
may the reason so many Tico's (local citizens) are in such great shape! ! !
This vacation is now considered in the top 3 vacations our family has ever taken. That's
amongst 25! It may even be the best! Pura Vida!!
Casa Sandra was perfect for a family of 4 which included 2 teenagers. We could walk to the store and a few restaurants and often also made the 2 mile walk to the beach and back. We spent many hours sitting outside on the verandas on each level of the house. There was a bus stop close by and it was easy to either hop on a bus or catch a taxi. We highly recommend Ronnies Restaurant and also loved our rafting and bike trips. Hazel and Thomas were great in assisting us with our plans.
