We had a wonderful time! The view of Lake Pepin is spectacular. The cottage was neat and clean. Many hours were spent around a fire on the patio. This was a return trip for us and want to go again next year. Mark & Shayna are wonderful to work with.
Most excellent stay with most excellent views of Lake Pepin. Home is close to downtown and walking is a pleasure. Everything needed was right there. Use of BBQ (gas) grill was welcomed. Watching Sunrises over Lake Pepin and bluffs was wonderful. All the comforts of home too. Able to access WiFi and Cable TV easily. The only slight drawback is only one bathroom on main level with bedrooms upstairs.. Especially liked the decor and the two sitting rooms. Favorite was the all window lakeside room. Would certainly recommend and consider return.
We are innkeepers in Hannibal, Mo, and can go weeks on end without a day off. When I saw a gap in our book, we decided to get away, and luckily this property happened to be available with only a few days notice. The property is just absolutely adorable, great view of the lake, lovely decor, everything one needs for a pleasant stay. I could have sat in the sunroom all day. We wish we could have stayed longer. The only thing I would say is that the stairs going upstairs to the bedrooms are very steep. Could be problematic for some, but it was fine for us. Would definitely return.
For 4 days and 2 sets of guests we had a wonderful stay in Lake City at this cottage. Originally my father who lives in a split level and does quite well on stairs was going to visit but he could not and after evaluating the stairs to the sleeping area and nocturnal bathroom visits by the elderly it was for the best. That and I don't get the TV in the front room, all it does is interrupt the wonderful view up river (lake) I found the cottage delightful, spacious and completely outfitted with everything a quest might need. The surrounding area provided lots of entertainments within walking or driving. Lark Toys in Kellogg takes 1st prize, and 2 visits.
My husband and I along with our two kids (ages 10 & 6) stayed at the cottage for six nights. The caregiver team was very helpful and kind during reservations and at check-in. The cottage is fully furnished, kitchen well stocked, including some spices and paper products! They had a basket full of tourist brochures of local attractions. Cottage was also stocked with plenty of rainy day games, movies and wifi availability. Lake Pepin could be viewed from the sunroom with biking trails with downtown and marina close by.
We had an excellent stay, this cottage had everything we needed, wonderful view of Lake Pepin from the sun room and outdoor seating area. We hiked Barn bluff, Frontenac State Park, National Eagle Center and went to Lark Toys and played mini golf in the rain. Also, DQ is a 5 minute walk away! Not a great place for accident prone people as there are 2 places inside and one outside that have a half step that can catch you by surprise!
A rainy day option could be Treasure Island Casino which is a 28 mile drive along the river. There is also a new bowling alley just blocks away!
