'Bluewaters' is a large family compound located directly on the beach. The property was converted into our family 'get-away' from an old beach resort. This place has a unique Bahamian, handcrafted, cottage feel, a real beachfront home. It is perfect for friends/families to be close but have their own space. The whole property is available for weekly rentals ($2195/week). Check out the link to our slideshow! (It is below the Owner's Profile) **NO smoking, NO pets.
'Bluewaters' contains two separate units that are also available to be rented individually: (1) The upstairs unit, called 'Shellback'. (2) The downstairs unit, called 'Boondocks'. See Below:
This upstairs home has a large central living area with vaulted ceiling and 180 degree ocean views. A full kitchen and dining area are included in this space. A suspended loft with double bed incorporated.
On both sides of this area are bedrooms with a queen bed, AC and bathrooms. There is an extra Bahama bed in the larger of the two bedrooms. A sitting area with two Bahama beds expands the sitting area. The living room sofa folds out as a double if desired. This home can accommodate from 8-11 people.
The ocean side porch is over 50' long with open and covered areas. The views from this home are unparalleled! Two miles of pristine beach with gin clear water is at your feet. Shopping is but a short walk away.

Spanish Wells is a quaint outer island. Perfect for families wanting to get away from the tourist traps of the Caribbean. It is a KITE-SURFER'S PARADISE. The rental comes with the free use of two kayaks. Feel free to contact me - we have plenty more photos to email. You can walk from the property everywhere: the grocery store, the bank, shopping, restaurants, the harbor, churches, etc. There are also golf cart/boat rentals on the island. Fishing/snorkeling guides are available.
I have enjoyed the Bahamas and Spanish Wells in particular since I was a boy. My family and I have been fortunate to live in Spanish Wells part time. It is our favorite place. We have spent a lot of time working to make our property comfortable for family and friends. We have decided to rent the property to offset our expenses. Please enjoy our home.
The Owner purchased this house in 1997
We chose to have a home in Spanish Wells because we love the Bahamas and Spanish Wells. We think Spanish Wells is a special, family-friendly island. It is a very safe island. The water colors are spectacular. Fishing/diving is second to none. Perfect beaches for small kids. It has been my dream to own property in Spanish Wells.
Fishing, Snorkeling/Diving, Boating, Biking, Walking, Shelling, Swimming, Sunning, Kite surfing, Reading, Golf cart riding, Eating fresh seafood, Site-seeing in nearby Eleuthera, almost forgot..napping
My wife and I stayed in "Boondocks" apartment. It's not a large unit, but it's all you needed for two people. We had everything we needed in the apartment. One bedroom, bathroom and shower, kitchen and living room area. The owner Boone will answer all of your questions about your reservation and the island. Boone made us feel completely safe about our decision to rent his apartment. I would definitely rent from Boone in the future. Boone has a representative on the island and his name is Johnny Underwood. Johnny will make sure you are escorted from the airport to the boat dock then to your apartment. This is a unique vacation and getting to the island is half the fun. You can only enter onto the island by a boat. Here was our itinerary. Miami airport to North Eleuthera Island Airport. Taxi from North Eleuthera Airport to Jean's Bay Boat dock. (about 6 miles) Then, a short boat ride over to Spanish Wells. (about a half mile) Your taxi driver to the boat dock will also be your boat captain to Spanish Wells. Johnny will pick you up from the Spanish Wells boat dock and take you on a golf cart to the house. Your won't get this type of customer service in the US. Once you get to the house, it's time to vacation. Boone has everything at the house to keep you busy. He has two bicycles and two kayaks for your use during your vacation. It's easy to get around the island on a bicycle, but I would recommend renting a golf cart from Johnny for the week. We would ride bikes in the morning and take the golf cart out at night for dinner. At the house, the view is incredible and you're 30 feet from the beach. You can enjoy the patio or walk down to the beach. The beach is great. At low tides, you can probably walk a mile in half on the beach and you probably won't pass a person during your walk. It's like your own private island. You will love it. You must be prepared for a relaxing vacation because there's not a lot of entertainment on the island. They have 5 restaurants on the island. (1 restaurant and 4 small dinners) The main restaurant is called the Shipyard. Great location, great breeze and a great outside deck for dining. You can also take ride on your bikes/golf cart over the bridge to Russell Island. No restaurants on that island, but it was fun to explore during the day. Make sure to pick up a map when you get on Spanish Wells Island. My wife and I fell in love with the island and the people. Great island, great island scenery, great local people! Enjoy
Our extended family (12 people - ages toddle-senior citizens) stayed here for a week over Christmas. Getting to Spanish Wells is half the fun - a small prop plane from Nassau & then a ferry from Eleuthera. The white/pink sand beach in front of the house is what sold us on this property. At low tide, you can walk out 1/4 mile or so and the clear, turquoise water is only up to your chest. The kids had so much fun finding sand dollars, starfish & watching fish. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out in the house. We rented both units so had both floors & 2 kitchens. We did use utensils/equipment from both kitchens as neither was overstocked with equipment. The caretakers were nice enough to get some basic groceries for us ahead of time as we were arriving on a Sunday when things were closed. We headed to the grocery store the next morning as it was only open in the morning since it was Christmas Eve & was then going to be closed on Christmas Day & Boxing Day (which they celebrate in the Bahamas). Groceries are quite expensive as we had been warned. Not a lot of variety of fresh produce & all dairy products get shipped on container ships where they come in a frozen state. We found that people set up stands on the roadside to sell food they make in their homes. This is yummy! The ice cream place is good, too. We asked around & found people that would sell us fish & lobster out of their home freezers which was also really good. The sea kayaks are great & we were wishing there were more. The bikes were handy & we were wishing for more of them, too! We rented 1 golf cart which was handy for the shopping & for exploring Russell Island. The only negative thing of the trip was the bldg. behind the house seemed to be a party shack over Christmas break. It was very loud until the wee hours of the morning. The owner of the house said this is not typical & has not happened before. He said if we had contacted him during the trip, he would have taken care of it. We just figured it was kids having fun & didn't let it bother us too much. It was more entertainment for all of us the next morning discussing the music choices. Locals all seem extremely friendly, as were the caretakers & homeowners. IT WAS A GREAT VACATION!!!
We stay in Spanish Wells often and just love the remoteness, beaches and people!!!! We realized about a week out from our trip that we needed accommodations for one extra night/day and the place we were staying was rented for that last night. We found Boone and Melissa's place, which was only two doors down on the same beach, and sent an email explaining our dilemma. Boone responded back right away, was very nice, full of island information and agreed to rent us Boondocks for the extra night/day. The compound is on the most beautiful part of Spanish Wells with a great beach and shallow calm turquoise water. The accommodations were great for us (2 adults/1 child). The unit was very clean, had everything we needed and even has bikes/kayaks. Uncle Christian and Aunt Margene were staying in the upstairs unit and were a wealth of information as well as very welcoming and gracious hosts. We were given a tour of the upstairs unit as well and for the price/location/amenities neither unit can be beat for the value on the island!!! Thanks Boone and Melissa for allowing us to end our awesome vacation at your beach home.
This was our fourth vacation to Spanish Wells, and our first stay at this rental. We loved it! We rented the entire upstairs. The view, location, and beach can't be beat, and the owners were very nice to work with. Of all the different places we've stayed on this island, this was my favorite. It has that tropical and beachy feel to it, where the other rentals lacked them. While the photos on the website are nice, they truly don't do this place justice.
We just rented "Bluewaters" and we LOVED IT!!! Boone and Melissa are THE BEST owners we have ever dealt with! They answered every question we asked (and we asked A LOT) and were just all around great owners! The house is 100X better than the pictures and the beaches are 100X better than the pictures.... We had a VERY relaxing week and loved every minute of it! We rented a golfcart and toured the island, met some of the locals, who were very nice! Sunsets are BEAUTIFUL there especially on the western tip of the island by "The Flats" The beach that just happens to be RIGHT out the back door was WONDERFUL! The sand had a pink hue to it and was powdery. The water was so clear and calm and the temperature was perfect! We took our 3 yr old son and the beach was perfect for him! We could walk out for a mile and it wasnt too deep for him (except in the late evening when the tide came in) We had a BLAST searching for sand dollars and we found tons! The Gap had some pretty good food and we also liked the little snack shop down the road! All in all we LOVED it in Spanish Wells and Bluewaters beach house is THE BEST HOUSE ON THE ISLAND haha
