Enjoy paradise in this darling 'casita' situated on the grounds of one of the most admired private properties in downtown Boquete.
The cozy, comfy and convenient one-room guest cottage sits behind a charming wrought iron gate overlooking a beautiful bubbling stream.
The 'casita' is stocked with mini-fridge, microwave, toaster-oven, electric kettle and coffee maker - the basics for preparing breakfast or a light meal.
Walk to language school, restaurants & cafes, shopping, golf course, eco-touring, transportation! Or just hang out in the hammock, listening to the running stream.
The setting is perfect for a romantic weekend, a week of Spanish language immersion, or a longer visit to explore all of the region.
If you are considering a move to Panama, your hosts would be happy to answer questions and give you some 'insider' tips.
If you wish, you can arrange to take a course in silk painting and polymer clay with Barbara, an artist/teacher.
Mort, owner of Morton's Bakehouse, is a well known artisan baker. You may also wish to take one of Mort's artisan bread baking classes.
We and Maggie, our sweet Labradoodle, look forward to welcoming you as our honored guests.
A brief listing of some local festivals and events:
November - a month of celebrations. Panamanian Independence Day Parades. Local celebrations in Boquete are colorful, fun, with parades of darling school children dressed in beautiful costumes.
December - Christmas and New Years celebrations, parades and displays
January - The International Boquete Flower and Coffee Fair. Music events at night are, regrettably, noisy throughout the entire valley - bring ear plugs! The flowers bloom all season! Generally held the third week in January.
February - World-Class Jazz & Blues on the slopes of Volcan , Feb 5-8, 2015. This is a great event - getting bigger and better each year.
March - Orchid Fair in Boquete - professional and amateur growers vie for gold medals. Generally held end of March, beginning of April at the Fair Grounds.

After a late night flight to Panama City from Florida and a 7.5 hour, interesting, confusing, but beautiful bus ride in to Boquete from PC, we finally arrived at the cottage.... it was gorgeous! The owners were from Ohio (as is my hubby) and they were great! Fresh bread in the mornings was a nice treat. Even though you are right next to their house, this guest cottage has plenty of privacy. The river flowing by is just gorgeous and sounds amazing in the morning. The vegetation here is breath-taking! We were only in Boquete for 2 days, and this cottage was perfect for us - you could walk to town in less than 2 minutes and everything you need is right there. Perfect!
We spent two nights here, then took the bus up to Bocas for the next 7 days. Highly recommend staying at Paraisos Escondidos (http://www.vrbo.com/448003) if you are heading in that direction.
Overall, this cottage was only one of the amazing places that made our honeymoon in Panama perfect! We like to travel to new places too much, so I'm not sure we'll ever be back in Boquete, but if we are, I'll definitely be seeing if this place is still around! Don't even keep looking, just book this one!
This casita is very nice. There was a small refrigerator, microwave & toaster oven for cooking your own meals. The bed was very comfortable. The WIFI worked great. Barbara & Mort were very helpful with things to do in the area. Their dog, Maggie stopped by frequently to see how we were doing. The casita is in a gated yard with the owners house. Restaurants & shops were only a 5 - 10 minute walk. During festivals, music from the park almost 1/2 mile away was very loud until 3AM. Unaviodable if staying in Boquete.
This is the most delightful place to stay, the lovely Casita, the river just a few feet away, the beautiful yard and flowers and your wonderful and always smiling host Barbara! It was a home away from home. Visit Mort's bakery and meet many, many expats who will become your friends. And then there is Maggie, sweet Maggie who greeted me each day for pets and love. What could be better than all of this:)
Absolutely perfect location and setting. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming to us. The casita was a wonderful place to stay and incredibly comfortable. The location made it simple to walk to downtown and enjoy all of the shops and restaurants located throughout Boquete. We would not consider staying anywhere else. Perfect for a couple.
My sister and I stayed a week at this lovely cottage in the beautiful quaint town of Boquete.
Mort and Barb both are the finest hosts that we could hope for. And Maggie was a great companion during our stay.
Upon our our arrival we were greeted by Barb with our first taste of the scrumptious bread that Mort had made and had done that several times after that as well.
We attended the silk painting class by Barb and our creativity was encouraged and nurtured; thankfully with Barbs patience.
A medical emergency arose and Barb was there quickly arranging care, never leaving our side and helping arrange for acquiring the prescriptions needed. She had even offered to drive us herself to David which was over and hour away at 8 PM at night. Her concern and kindness was over and above what we could have ever expected.
The cottage was all that the pictures depicted and more. It was very neat and clean and the landscaping beautiful. The sound of the river lulled us to sleep each night.
Barb suggested a coffee tour with Rich at Cafe de Luna and it was an experience that is a must while in Boquete.
We would suggest this property wholeheartedly and hope to one day return to visit our new friends again.
My husband and I are travelers, and seldom have we stayed at such a perfect place. From the warm greeting and delicious freshly baked bread upon our arrival, to those sweet Maggie dog kisses, we felt glad to have chosen this casita. Everything you good possibly need for a comfortable and safe visit was right at hand, including the most lovely of hosts. We loved being right in town and yet in a quiet place. We slept so good at night in that oh-so comfortable bed with the sound of the fast moving river just outside. We got great advice for day trips, along with good directions, and loved the town of Boquete. We absolutely recommend this sweetest of places to stay. It deserves an extra star!
