Close to downtown Niantic where you can see a movie, get an ice cream, walk on the new boardwalk along the Niantic Bay, visit the Niantic Children's Museum, Florence Griswold Museum, you won't be far from Indian's Casinos, the Essex steam train, Eugene O'Neil Theater, Harkness State Park which has beautiful gardens overlooking the Long Island Sound, there's the Ocean Beach Amusement Park with a boardwalk along the beach, a waterslide, pool, miniature golf course, an arcade and food vendors. Just 5 miles away in the town of Niantic is the famous Niantic Fishing Fleet where you can take a party boat or private charter quickly out to the best fishing New England has to offer. There's lots to do in the surrounding area, for instance you can go hiking at Devil's Hop Yard, or explore Gillett's Castle which was once owned by the actor William Gillette. There's a dinosaur park where you can dig for fossils and visit the gift store which has many jewels for sale and educational toys.

What to do on Giants Neck Beach.: In our 1950's original beach house you can sit on the enclosed porch and look at the view of the Long Island Sound, it is safe for children. There are tennis courts & a playground for young children. You can fish right off the beach. It's a perfect area to kayak or canoe in the calm waters of the sound & creek. You can visit the many attractions in the nearby surrounding towns, such as taking a hike at Devil's Hop Yard or exploring Gillette's Castle which once belonged to the actor William Gillette. We are close to Fox Woods & Mohegan Sun Casino's too. The Crystal Mall is only a few exits down I 95 if you need anything you'll find it there. It's 5 miles to downtown Niantic where there are many shops to explore, the Niantic Childrens Museum and the finest fishing fleet in New England. You can charter a private boat or take a charter boat out to the best fishing grounds in the LI sound.

As you can see you will be just a short walk to Rocky Neck State park where you can sunbath on the beach or ride bikes on the many roads in the park. We are near the Florence Griswold museum, the Niantic Childrens Museum,

The Dinosaur Park where you can dig for fossils or visit the gift shop with many jems found in the earth, they also

have an ice cream stand at the park. You are only a couple of exits up I 95 to the Fox Woods & Mogehan Sun Casino's and the Crystal Mall. You can take a hike through the Devil's Hop Yard or visit the Gillette's Castle owned by the famous actor William Gillette. In downtown Niantic you can shop the small shops or go out on a charter for some of the best fishing in the Long Island Sound. In Waterford CT you can see a play at the Eugene O'Niell Theater or go Harkness Park and visit the beautiful gardens right on the coast of the LI Sound. There are picnic

areas in the park as well. Visit Ocean Beach with a boardwalk along the beach with many consessions.

This cottage is simple yet comfortable. A short walk to the beach. The owners are very pleasant to work with and very accomodating. The community is very nice. We enjoyed our stay!
