In the heart of the Yakima Valley, an approximate 2.5 hour drive from Seattle, your river cottage awaits you. Prosser, Washington touted as the birthplace of the Washington wine scene, has over 30 wineries to explore.

Philomena's Cottage is an idyllic setting on the Yakima River with comfortable accommodations for 4-6 people.

The 1920's home has been recently remodeled with a French country feel. You'll find everything you need, with fishing poles, bicycles and a patio barbeque and fire pit to enjoy your peaceful stay. Have a glass of wine on the covered porch and look at the wildlife and the Yakima River.

I am a restaurant owner in Seattle. I like to visit the Yakima valley area. I have family there and it is fun to wine tour the area.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2003
Why The Owner chose Benton City

It is a peaceful location about 2.5 hours outside Seattle and it is a early 1900 house that I have restored.

What makes this cottage unique

We are on the Yakima River where bass spawn and there is great fishing. There are 37 wineries in the town of Prosser and fun to visit and do wine tasting. There is a community farmers market on the weekends. There bike paths and fun antique stores. The community plans all kinds of weekend events in the summer, Balloon rally, Art walk, Wine and Food Fair and more...It is peaceful and quiet and very beautiful.

Country Charm- wonderful place to stay in Prosser!

Philomena's Cottage is an idyllic setting on the Yakima River. The cottage is cute, charming and comfortable. The wrap around porch is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunshine and cup of coffee in the morning, there is also a bench by the river that is quite peaceful. The rooms are nice and the kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed cooking and enjoying a meal outside by the firepit which was nice since there are few good restaurants in town (Wine O'Colck was wonderful). The Prosser Wineries are very similar to those in Woodenville, just tasting rooms, not wineries, but the wines were wonderful and more affordable than Woodenville and Willamette Valley, additionally the tasting room staff were lots of fun. We also found some good Antique shops in town. We had a great time in Prosser and will return. I'd recommmend Philomena's cottage for a girls weekend.

Exquisite home in a wonderful setting

Home is right on the river, in a most remarkable location. It is lovingly maintained with much attention to detail. We loved sitting in the sun on the front porch watching the river flow by. The owner was extremely easy gracious and accommodating. We would certainly return without a doubt. A sunny and peaceful historic home.

A Wonderful Relaxing Home

My wife and I stayed here for three nights as part of a wine touring vacation. The home is very nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. Also the location and home are beautiful. We greatly enjoyed our stay here and will stay again next time we visit the area.
