An Oasis of Solitude in the Heart of Germany:
The Bear's Mill is located “where the fox and hedgehog bid goodnight.” Despite its rural location, it is still in the center of Germany. Hamburg, Berlin and Munich are all between two and four hours away by railroad, trains leaving from the Kassel – Wilhelmshöhe train station. From Frankfurt airport, even Rome and New York are just a hop away. All roads lead to the Bear's Mill – here in the heart of tranquility. Not only is the Bear's Mill surrounded by pristine nature, one can discover much in the way of culture. From the Haina Sistine cloister, the birthplace of the Goethe painter Tischbein, to Arolsen Palace, known as little Versailles, to the Thonet Museum in Frankenberg, with its unique panorama of seating furniture (from the Viennese coffee-house style through to Bauhaus,) there are many treasures here waiting to be discovered. Even if only the “Wild Men” on the region’s prettily restored half-timbered houses.
