What a beautiful home! Two families with small children came up for a cross-country ski getaway, only to have picked the one February weekend in N. Michigan without enough snow! But this home made the trip worth it. We hiked in the nature preserve across the street, visited the ice fishermen on Burt Lake (18" of ice!), went skating outdoors in Petoskey, toured other lakes in the area, relaxed in the hot tub, and more.
Our favorite features:
- Panoramic views of the lake, including the best dining table vista you'll find!
- Spacious, new, perfect hot tub with a view. 10° and blowing snow sideways? Not a problem.
- Large, open, and incredibly well-appointed kitchen (example: popcorn popper!) and grill setup.
- Basement for the kids to play.
- Very well constructed and cared-for -- this was clearly NOT built as a rental, but as a home.
- Relaxed and helpful attitude of owners.
If you are looking to spend some time in a comfortable home in a beautiful and relaxed setting, look no further.
Our only "wish" for a chilly winter weekend was to build a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace, which has a decorative insert.
