Relax in rustic comfort on beautiful spring-fed Sunset Lake. Enjoy yourself swimming, boating or fishing in our crystal clear lake - a dock and floating raft are available and if you're lucky you might even catch a large bass right from the end of the dock. In the evening, see the spectacular sunset from our screened-in porch right at the water's edge.

We have 120' of waterfront and offer privacy yet proximity to local attractions. Bring a good book and stretch out in a corner of our large, shady two-level deck as the cool lake breezes and beautiful flowers provide an idyllic setting for a lazy summer afternoon. Our lakehouse is perfect in the summer but also ideal in the fall and makes a wonderful destination for a romantic weekend getaway. Curl up in front of the fireplace with a glass of wine in the evening after you've spent the day leaf-peeping and visiting a local apple orchard.

Note: We are a non-smoking residence.

Hampstead is conveniently located about an hour north of Boston and an hour south of the White Mountains. In addition, a 30-minute ride east will find you enjoying an ocean beach on the picture-perfect coastline of New Hampshire. We have some wonderful walking trails, town-wide tennis courts, a lovely town beach, local farm stands with fresh seasonal produce and some unique tourist attractions such as 'America's Stonehenge' nearby. We're also home to Camp Tel Noar, a camp for Jewish youth which has been a fixture on the lake since 1945. At night, you might hear the voices of the campers singing by the campfire across the lake.

Just how we remembered it.

This was our second time staying here and we had a great time once again. It feels like our home away from home. There are beautiful sunsets to watch, plenty of fish to catch and great spots to just sit, relax and read a good book.

It is nice to be able to take our two dogs with us on vacation and not have to worry about boarding them. They even get to go for a swim.

The grill was upgraded since our last visit and was used to its full potential. We were able to have several relaxing meals on the deck while looking out at the beautiful lake.

There are several eateries not too far, just in case you want to enjoy a nice dinner out. We enjoyed a tasty meal at Lobster Q, which serves great sea food as well as barbeque. Interesting combination, but it works.

Janice is very nice and willing to do whatever she needs to make the stay enjoyable. We will definitely be making another trip up to her cottage.

Great Family Fun

I can't say enough about the great weekend we had at Janice's cabin on Sunset Lake. The cabin was just as advertized, comfortable and homey. Janice was great accommodating our family complete with 2 Spaniels! We had a birthday party on the deck overlooking the lake..also enjoyed the canoe she provided for our stay. The screened in porch fast became our favorite night spot when we weren't playing Trivial Pursuit indoors. The nicest surprise was the cabin is situated at the end of a dirt road. We didn't have to worry about cars and we enjoyed walking our dogs around the neighborhood. We will surely visit again next summer! Thanks, Janice! Brad & JoAnn, Frankfort, ME

Tucked In ;)

If you want to create vacation memories with your family or are looking for a peaceful place to relax your busy mind, or both, then this is the place for you. This little rustic cottage tucked in beneath the pines on Sunset Lake is only an hour and 30min., from Central MA. This cabin will provide you with clean bedding and a comfy living area, where gentle breezes blow in off the lake and sweep right through the cottage. The breakfast nook is a spot to enjoy a warm cup of coffee or read a magazine. We enjoyed grilling on the large grill and sharing laughs on the spacious deck that was adorned with floral annuals and the sounds of the lake. From canoeing, fishing, jumping off the dock and laying on the tubes to eating homemade ice cream and a latte in town we kept as busy or relaxed as wanted to be (and these were just some of the fun times we experienced.) Upon our arrival, Janice gave us the grand tour and made us feel so welcome and comfy. She was available at any time, which is important when renting someone's treasure. We hope that you enjoy your stay here as much as our family did! We cannot wait to return.
