Newly remodeled and updated. Surrounded by water and the fishing

has been great. Treasure Island Community at San Luis Pass is known for fishing, boating, shelling and gorgeous beaches. This house features a large partially shaded deck with views of the Bay. The house is located directly on the canal (one house from the Bay) and offers great day or night fishing. A large light is provided for night fishing. Boat slips are available for renters that would like to bring their boat or other water toys. The house is fully furnished and nicely appointed with teak floors, granite counters and stocked kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms in main house with a master suite downstairs with full bath. We provide Direct TV on 3 flat screen televisions (a 42'LCD 1080p in main living area and a 32' LCD in the each master). Beach is located across the main road (about a two minute drive).

Always Hate To Leave

My family and I recently spent two weeks here at the canal house and as always had the time of our lives. We have been coming here and renting from Paul for years and always hate to have to pack to go home. This year the weather forced us to cut our vacation short but while we were there, the fishing was great! Caught several reds in the canal, one over 26". Flounder and trout every night. The cabin works wonderfully for my family as my grandparents are well up in age and having the downstairs room with a complete bathroom with a low tub worked perfect. The upstairs has plenty of room to accommodate us and the extra bathroom upstairs is a major plus. The view from the balcony is amazing. Some of the best sunsets you'll ever see. I highly recommend this place except for when we are planning to be there, lol. Thanks so much Paul, you are helping me build some great memories with my family!

Renter beware

We arrived for our honeymoon only to find a filthy, messy house with piles of dirty sheets, comforters, and towels lying all over the master bedroom and laundry room. The main house was not yet cleaned. Beds were not made. Dirty dishes were in the kitchen sink. In the two bedrooms with queen beds, we found the bed frames cracked in the middle on each side, suppored by stacks of books. The top of the electric oven in the kitchen was cracked in at least five pieces. Two of the three tubs, we later realized were clogged, after my wife spent about four hours cleaning the place. The fridge ice maker was broken and one of the two boat lifts, the smaller lift that would have fit our boat, was inoperable. On of the lights in the kitchen flickered continuously. The enire place smelled like fish, as the last renters did not abide by the rules; even keeping fish in the masterbedroom small drink fridge. This house had not been updated in quite some time. There was grease everywhere; between the fridge and cabinets, on the floor, on the sinks, and dinning table. While, after cleaning the place up; we did eventually enjoy our time. The owner, while having promised to refund us the cleaning fee; has yet to mail me a check. Renter's beware!!
Owner's Response: Renters Beware,

I understand that this person was upset, and he has received a refund check. The number one issue and was not mentioned is that if you show up early and the cleaning crew is not done cleaning the house and you send them away it's hard to say it will be clean. Our check in time is 4:00pm to allow the cleaning team time to get the house ready. It is true the stove top was broken by a previous renter, it is now fixed. We also added new mattresses, bedding, and heavy duty steel bed frames.
Though we feel this is an unfair depiction of our property, we do all we can to make your stay a POSITIVE experience. If at any time you have an issue we work fix it. It is difficult to have a property like this is this location due to all the salt and up keep is an ongoing issue. We have two boat lifts which is rare for this area. We feel this is a great house, a good deal for the money, with a great fishing location. In short, if you show up early, PLEASE allow the cleaning team time to do their job, and if you have an issue please give us a chance to make it right. We appreciate you business, Thank you.

Great spot for fishing!

This house was very nice. My family spent a week there over Labor Day weekend and we had a blast! The deck is huge (great place to sit out in the morning and have breakfast) and the fishing area below was perfect - we caught quite a few fish.

Bad start: good ending!!!

A wonderful place to stay. Accommodated 6 adults and 4 children with ease. The house had everything we needed except: could not find any hot pads. Had biscuits each morning and the cookie sheet was testy to take out.

When we arrived, it was locked. I had left the phone numbers at home. Went to the store on the corner, closed, but a fireworks stand worker gave me the # to Bill, the security person. I got Debbies and Pauls #'s. After several attempts, finally got Paul, who in turn did get in touch with Debbie. Shortly, we were in. Due to some emergency circumstances, which we understood, Debbie finished making the beds. A weather-proof note on one of the doors with phone #;s, etc, might be handy.

The grill was a mess. Someone recently evidently grilled some very greasy food and it drained onto the cement. The total grill was very greasy and covered with bits of grass from the last mowing. I cleaned the grate but finally gave up on the cover and two shelfs. A cleaner and lots of paper towels was not hacking it. I moved the grill over the 2 to 3 square feet of grease on the cement, to keep the kids and myself from stepping in it and tracking it up the stairs and into the house. (Could be very unsafe going up the greasy stairs.)

But, we overlooked all this and had a very good time. Caught only 1 keeper speck. Besides 2 18 inch reds, we caught a basket full of hardheads. They are fun to catch but released all back in.

We will probably try again next year. The things that happened and the condition of the grill were just overlooked. Easy to fix.

Perfection!

This house was perfect! The house feels much bigger in person than the pictures suggest, which was a great surprise! We had a group of 8 and it accommodated us very well. The deck is also huge and it was nice to have breakfast out on it every morning. The fishing was a bit slow but we enjoyed it anyways. The appliances all worked well and we had zero problems with the internet. The location is awesome with a bait shop/grocery store right up the street at the beginning of the neighborhood.
Paul, the owner, was also very accommodating. I accidentally locked myself out of my bedroom (downstairs) and he got me out of that ordeal! Also, we had one plumbing issue but Paul had a plumber out to the house within an hour and a half to fix it! We were all very impressed with everything. Would definitely book again! :)
