The apartment Alkmini is located between Malia and Sissi in an altitude of about 80 meters on a quiet hill. From your huge terrace you enjoy the breathtaking view all over the Bay of Malia with the fantastic sunsets in the sea and all over the Dikti-mountains. Alkmini is on the ground floor in a house with 2 apartments (upstairs: Omfali no. 24923). Alkmini was built in August 2000, it is modern and comfortably equipped and has direct access to the garden. To Malia and the beautiful sandy beaches it will take you about 5 minutes by car, to Sissi on the other side, also about 5 minutes.

Malia is an active village with many entertainment and shopping facilities. In the old town you will find narrow streets and the most typical Greek taverns. On the beach road there are shops, supermarkets, bars, discos and international restaurants. Malia offers you one of the nicest and longest sandy beaches all over the island, right next to the interesting Minoan excavations of the ancient palace of King Sarpidon. Sissi is a small fishing village with a lot of charm.

Excursions: Malia is an ideal destination to start a lot of beautiful excursions all over Crete: to Knossos, into the mountains to the plateau of Lassithi and into the cave where Zeus was born..., to Agios nikolaos, to Rethymnon or to Chania. 1-day-cruises are possible as well as hiking tours through the enormous Samaria-Gorge.

Walks: All around our hill leads a nice hiking path, about 45 minutes, partly bad road, that invites you for a panoramic walk.

Olympic Games 2004: Within the Olympic Games 2004 in August some football-competition matches will take place in Heraklion.

'Die Götter Griechenlands hatten diesen Ort sicher uebersehen ... vielen Dank für alles!' *** 'Superunterkunft, traumhafte Lage mit unbezahlbarem Ausblick, tolles Wetter, liebe Gastgeber, eine neu aufgetane Schatztruhe auf Kreta, die es in keinem Katalog zu finden gibt! Es gibt sicher bald ein Wiedersehen.' *** 'Am Ende sind es die Kleinigkeiten, die ein Haus zu einem Zuhause machen - eine Küche, in der man nicht zu improvisieren braucht, Bettwäsche zum Wohlfühlen, Blumen in der Vase, das Kännchen Olivenöl. Wir haben uns zuhause gefühlt in einem Haus, das die Gastfreundschaft der Menschen wiederspiegelt, die es geschaffen haben. "Alkmini" Traumhaft und Perfekt

Als wir 2006 das erstemal das "Alkmini"buchten,wurden unsere Erwartungen noch übertroffen.Schon alleine die netten Aufmerksamkeiten wie das Olivenöl,Gebäck,Honig,Getränke und Blumen liessen den Urlaub gut anfangen.Die Herzlichkeit der Vermieter Familie ist nicht zubeschreiben,man muß es einfach selber erlebt haben.Die Wohnung ist ein Traum und man muß auf nichts verzichten,selbst Strandtücher werden gestellt.Der Blick von der Terrasse nach Malia und über das Meer,die tollen Sonnenuntergänge,muß man einfach gesehen haben.Beim erstenmal blieben wir 4 Wochen und 2007 waren es fast 5 Wochen,wo wir uns dort erholten.Auch in diesem Jahr sind wir wieder zu Gast im "Alkmini".Zur Familie gehören auch mehrere Hunde und Katzen die man einfach mit erwähnen sollte,da diese sehr zutraulich sind.Auch für Ausflüge ist dies ein toller Ausgangspunkt,wie z.B.nach Heraklion,Knossos,Lassithi-Hochebene,Agios Nikólaos,Vai und in das Bergdorf Kritsa (dort sollte man im unbedingt die Getränke Soumàda und Kaneláda probieren).Schöne Restaurants befinden sich in Sissi am Hafen.Auch der Strand ausserhalb von Malia,bei den Ausgrabungsstätten,ist mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen und auch für Kinder gut geeignet und nicht überfüllt.Auch dort befindet sich eine kleine Taverne die man ruhig mal besuchen sollte.Man kann das "Alkmini" sowie auch das "Omalfi"( ist uns auch bekannt ) an Freunde und Bekannte mit ruhigem Gewissen weiterempfehlen!!!! Ein grosser Pluspunkt ist das Auto was man für den gesamten Aufenthalt zur Verfügung hat.Für weitere Tips geben die Vermieter gerne Auskunft.Wir werden immer wieder gerne hier herkommen!

Traumhaft

Urlaub pur - es beginnt schon mit dem Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit herrlichem Meerblick. Die Wohnung ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht, freundlich und modern eingerichtet, gut gepflegt. Wohltuend abseits von Hotellärm und Pauschalurlaub. Mit Familienanschluss - einschließlich Hunden und Katzen. Trotz der idyllischen einsamen Lage sind alle Ziele - sei es Supermarkt, Taverne, Strand oder sonstiges - mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen. Besonders gute Betreuung und Beratung durch die Vermieter.

Schöne Ferien im "Alkmini"

Im Juli 2007 verbrachten wir zwei herrliche Wochen im Ferienhaus Alkmini und fühlten uns dort pudelwohl. Die gepflegte und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohnung, der freundliche Empfang durch die Vermieterin am Flughafen, die traumhafte Lage mit Blick über die Bucht, der wunderschöne Garten, die netten Aufmerksamkeiten durch die Vermieter (kleine Erstversorgung im Kühlschrank, immer ausreichend Strandtücher...), die drei liebenswerten Hunde, die netten Kinder, die griechischen Köstlichkeiten und und und. Dies sind nur ein paar der Pluspunkte, die diesen Urlaub so schön werden ließen.
Wir hoffen sehr, dass wir wieder einmal dort unseren Urlaub verbringen können!

Wir drei mittelarlterlichen Frauen haben traumhafte Reiseferien auf Kreta verbracht. "Unser" Häuschen hat all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen; vor allem die Details waren es, die es uns angetan hatten, angefangen beim Willkommensstrauss, über einheimische Backwaren, tadellose Sauberkeit und Ordnung bis hin zur geschmackvollen und auch liebevollen Ausstattung von Alkmini. Mehr Lobeshymnen möchte ich nicht abgeben, sonst werden die Chancen, Alkmini wieder einmal mieten zu können, nur noch kleiner...!
