The Little House sits on an enchanting estate that's been in the same family for 100 years, at the edge of picturesque, sleepy Catskills mountain town. Near the cabin run the headwaters of the Neversink River, where native brook trout run, and where there's a deep swimming hole. The expansive meadow, will transfix you whether you're sitting outside or looking out through the living room's picture window, as the light changes and you watch the barn swallows dart to and fro. At the far edge of the meadow is the last stop in the whole town, as the 'main road' dead ends, and that's a NY State trailhead for Slide Mountain. The 'Big House' is separate, but not too far, from the Little House, and it is a magnificent, Adirondack-style lodge, boasting a most unusual Japanese pagoda-style roof. While the family does come up and use the main house, mostly on weekends, they are friendly and keep largely to themselves. Well-behaved dogs are allowed, much to their delight.
