Amelia Island Plantation is Florida's AAA-Four Diamond destination island resort comprising 1350 acres. Sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing and biking are just a few of the pleasures that the island offers. A 6.2 mile biking and pedestrian trail(Amelia Island Trail) opened in May 2013 extending from the south end of the island to Peter's Point, north of the Ritz Carlton.
As of March 1, 2013, we can no longer provide the resort amenity card for our guests but there are great resources for golf, tennis and fitness outside of the resort. A variety of fine shops, restaurants, fun activities offered by the nature center, ability to rent bikes and golf carts and family activities offered at the Shops and Canopy Park are offered at the plantation without an amenity card. A short drive to the north end of the island is historic Fernandina Beach with its quaint shops and wonderful restaurants on the waterfront.

I am the property manager(and friend of the owner) for this condo. I have been a property owner in the resort for 23 years. I try to stay at the beach at least 50% of the time and the rest of my time at our permanent home in Athens, Georgia.
Suzette Hodge purchased this condo in 2007
We fell in love with the resort when our children were very young and knew we wanted to be in a family oriented resort that offered many amenities. The resort is just a small part of this beautiful island and offers everything my family loves.
Quiet and peaceful surroundings are what is so attractive as well as the beautiful view and proximity to ocean. We love the 'family atmosphere' at Amelia Island Plantation. Also love the natural beauty of the island and the biking paths throughout the plantation. We love to walk to different restaurants and amenities the plantation has to offer without having to drive a car. Our favorite is the afternoon and evenings enjoying the view, breeze and sound of the ocean from the patio and lawn. Downtown, historic Fernandina is only a 10 minute drive. We enjoy the the restaurants, shopping, and views of the various boats at the docks.
What a great place for a vacation! Clean and updated condo overlooking the ocean. Ground floor allowed for our kids (8yr, 5yr & 2yr) to play outside on the front lawn as we relaxed on the patio. Condo is nicely furnished and has everything you need to make meals... We grilled fresh seafood from Atlantic Seafood Bait & Tackle on the community grill.... Natural Slice pizza was a great place to eat with kids and is a short walk away.... Timoti's Seafood Shak in Fernandina Beach was also a great family dining spot.... Suzette was great and the condo exceeded our expectations from the VRBO listing. We'll be back next year!
My family stayed in this condo over Spring Break. The condo was located on the ground level, with welcoming grass adjacent to both the condo and the walkway leading to the beach and ocean. The view from the large, well furnished unit and deck was glorious. My 87 year old mother traveled with me, and the location was perfect for her with the exception of the many steps from the parking lot to the condo. She had no ambulation problems, but did need to take it slowly. We rented a golf cart for the week, which we acquired from the Plantation. The condo amenities were complete, and the king size bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable! The owner, Suzette, was very attentive to our needs and any questions we had prior to our arrival. Should we return to Amelia Island in the future, or have family or friends inquire, I would most certainly recommend this specific condo!
I stayed here while visiting my parents on Amelia Island. The condo itself was so clean and spacious AND opened up right to the ocean. It is beautifully decorated and stocked. It was a pleasure dealing with Suzette who made the entire process easy and pleasant. The only thing to be aware of is that there are a lot of steps getting up to the property...it didn't bother us at all but it is probably not great for older folks or people on crutches!
We experienced the most wonderful mini vacation when we we stayed at Captain's Court for the Ga-Fla Game.
First of all the condo was great with all amenities we could want....but the view!!!! we loved the proximity to the beach and ocean and took full advantage. I would love to get this same condo and stay with the family this summer for 2 weeks. We had a ball
Amelia Island is a special place for my family. This Condo was perfect for our New Year's Eve trip too. We rented bikes, caught fish, found sharks teeth, and relaxed. The short walk to the beach and views were as advertised! The beautiful kitchen was a great surprise and we enjoyed cooking a couple of meals in which is nice for a family with small kids. I'd recommend this plays to anyone.
We spent a long weekend here for my husbands 40th. We could not have been happier. The condo is in the perfect location right next to the hotel, on the ocean, walking distance to the Spa and shops. The view was gorgeous as you could sit on patio or in the den to watch the ocean. The condo was in perfect condition, very clean and comfortable, beautiful decor. It was such a peaceful and perfect weekend. Suzette went above and beyond in assisting with everything. Perhaps even better service than the hotel itself. We look forward to visiting again in the future! LOVE, LOVE, LOVED our stay!
The resort offers many family oriented activities such as 18 holes of miniature golf, weekly Boardwalk Bash with live music, cookout, childrens games. Biking is very popular within the resort and a newly completed bike trail which runs parallel to AIA from south end of island to Peters Point. There are many places to fish for families in the resort. The Nature Center offers daily activities including kayaking and paddle boarding.
