No doubt about it, staying in the Isla Verde area of San Juan is the place to be! This is just not a rental property for me, it is my second home, and was my primary home for many years. Just knowing that after a day of travel, your vacation home destination is just less than ten minutes away, once you arrive at Puerto Rico's International airport in San Juan, takes the stress away.
The apartment is lovely! What is so unique is that it is on the third floor! The view of the ocean and beach are in perfect line to the living room and dinning room. This amazing view just flows right into the beautiful decor of your home away from home.
There are oil paintings throughout. It is elegantly furnished, with Rattan furniture in the living room and dining area. Anyone who comes over, immediately falls in love with the place. Everyone who has stayed, always returns. I also have an amazing Apartment Manager. He is there for whatever needs and questions you may have.
There are Hunter ceilings fans throughout. Air conditioning in the bedrooms. The apartment has been freshly painted with rich and bright colors such as reds, greens, and yellows. The bathroom is a newly renovated all Italian marble walk-in shower spa. It is located in between both bedrooms. The toilet and shower area can be made separate to the powder room, for dual person access. Closing one of the doors from a bedroom, becomes private to the next if you so desire.
There is a beautiful reading room in the lobby with beach views. Security, and Office Administration is also located in the lobby. Pool is located in the back of the building and is private to the guests at the Racquet Club.
There is a parking space available if you decide to rent a car. The car rental place I recommend is Charlie Car Rental, located just blocks away and open 24 hours, as well as a 24 hour Walgreens with a pharmacy.
Chairs and Umbrellas can be rented right outside in front of the building. A discount is given to those guests staying at the Racquet Club Condominium. And right downstairs is a bar/restaurant that serves great burgers to great fish salads, rice & beans and mofongo.
This vast beach strip that you will be residing at gives you the luxury of walking to restaurants, shopping, 5-Star Hotel and Casinos, and Live entertainment. Great Day and Night-Life always at your disposal.
Washer and Dryers are located on every even numbered floor. Machine money cards are available in the lobby next to the Administrator's office.
I am a Broadcast Technical Director and Screenwriter. Mainly write mainstream Latino Films. I am an avid traveler, and enjoy different cultures, as well as, art and art history. I also own other properties that I rent out and am very in-tune to what makes guests feel happy. Prior to being in the Broadcasting field, I worked in hospitalities for the Caribe Hilton in Puerto Rico. Making my knowledge even greater in providing fine comforts in one's vacation.

Actually, this rental property is actually my second home and treat it that way regardless of rentals. I lived in Puerto Rico for almost five years in the late eighties at the Racquet Club. This area is very special to me in all that it offers. So close to the airport, it's fabulous location and magical beach!
What I find that is most unique, is the offer of having best of both worlds! Relaxation or being in one of the centers of Puerto Rico's great day and night-life! The freedom of being able to walk to all sorts of sporting, shopping, dining, casinos, night-clubs, entertainment and pampering possibilities is just enormous!
We needed to get away with our two teenaged boys to have some family time during the busy holiday season and this did the trick! The picture of the view does not give it justice, it's truly something to experience. Yvonne is so helpful and caring. She gave us many ideas of how to celebrate Christmas (actually our son's birthday) in Puerto Rico and called be sure we had a good time. Francisco was helpful in making sure we could find everything we needed in the apartment and the area. He also checked in with us during our stay. The building is safe and walking is the best way to get around the area. This is ideal as I could get up early to enjoy a morning swim, run or stroll with my husband while the teens slept. Then we all had brunch in the apt and enjoyed the day on the beach. The restaurants downstairs are fine, we didn't need their bars as we had our own only three flights up! We rented a car for one day so we could hike EL Yunque and explore that area of the island. We left planning our next visit to what we hope to become a family tradition. Our family of 4 (two adults, 2 teen boys) escaped the winter snow in the northeast and spent 5 nights at the Tropical Jewel. This property is owned by a lovely, caring, very helpful and responsive owner, Yvonne. The condo is perfectly situated facing the ocean. The photos on the site are accurate but the view from the sliding glass doors is something you need to experience for yourself! With the glass doors of the main living area open we felt like we were literally on the beach. What an amazing treat to have that view all day. The location of the condo is ideal; 10 minutes from the San Juan airport, in walking distance from restuarants, markets, liquor stores, convenenience stores, an ice cream shop, the car rental place, the El San Juan Hotel and Casino, the Water Beach Club and so much more. You do not really need to have a car if you stay here. There are taxis always available and the local bus is inexpensive and is close by. We did end up renting a jeep for one day and exploring the El Yunque rainforest and the easternmost tip of the island. There are 3 restaurants located directly underneath the condo. Our boys loved being able to get their own food and drinks and take it out on the beach. I recommend the strawberry mojitos at El Alambique! There are air conditioning units in each of the bedrooms which made sleeping pleasant and helped to drown out the sounds of pigeons who like to congregate near the window and coo early in the morning. The condo was clean and had everything we needed. We ate breakfasts and lunches at the condo and typically went out for dinners. In addition to El Yunque, we took a day trip to Old San Juan where we toured El Morro and soaked in the sights and sounds of the town. We would highly recommend dinner at AquaViva in Old San Juan. We would definitely recommend this property friends and relatives. We felt safe and secure with the condo security system and were happy to have a local contact, Francisco, (the owner's property manager) in the case of any questions or emergency that may come up. Overall, this is great property, is a very good value and has everything you could need to enjoy the beauty of Isla Verde and beyond.
I am absolutely blown away by how beautiful the view of the beach was from this condo. The ocean breezes that came through the large front window were amazing! My family of 3 stayed in the condo for 7 days, and didn't want to leave. First, both the owner and property manager where very helpful and made the check in and out process easy. The condo is remodeled and fully equipt with everything we needed and more. The location was central to many resturants, shops, and of course...the beach. My husbands family lives in Puerto Rico...we found our new place to stay for every future visit! Thanks so much to Yvonne and Fransisco you both were awesome!
I stayed here for 10 days and we had an amazing vacation. Yvonne is fantastic and Francisco was always helpful with any issue. My teenage kids want to definitely go back next summer. The apartment is bright and the view spectacular. Easy access to the main highways made it easy for us to go different places. If you are thinking in renting the Tropical Jewel-you won't be disappointed.
My husband and I visited Puerto Rico in November for the first time and stayed in Isla Verde near this condo. We enjoyed ourselves so much and the location that we decided to look for a condo to stay in to bring our 3 kids for their Spring Break! The location is perfect. Walk right out of the condo onto the beach...plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance and very safe!
The best part of our experience was the fantastic communication with owner, Yvonne. She responded promptly to any and all questions and was full of helpful information. All of the review give accurate information so I will not be redundant.
We had a wonderful family vacation and would be happy to go back again with our kids and stay in the Tropical Jewel.
We recommend this location and condo to any and all. It was a little snug for our 3 teens but plenty of room otherwise. And property manager was nice enough to get us a rollaway bed. :)

The location and view of Yvonne's condo was perfect, absolutely perfect! It was a great place to start our Puerto Rican adventure as we picked up people from the airport (it was less than a ten minute drive there). The condo was well-stocked and conveniently located near a coffee shop, a couple of bars, and many restaurants on the strip as well as a Walgreens.
The condo could have used a little more bedding options but otherwise it was fantastic. And for directions, I would search on Google Maps for "Maxim Tower" and the Racquet club is next door.
It was absolutely a wonderful place to start our trip and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Dear Traveler, I only require two payments.
The first is the $275.00 refundable deposit amount in order to hold your time for you. Once you move in, deposit amount transfers into a Security deposit, which will be returned to you soon after your departure and the apartment manager has found all in good order and no damages.
The second is the total rental amount due (10) days prior to your arrival
* Approximate monthly rate. Actual rate will depend on the days of the month you stay.
Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.
