Guestbook comments from the owner
We've enjoyed our stay at Casa Paloma and agree with all the reasons stated by your other guests. We too have rented many different houses in Taos in the 80's & 90's but not in recent years. We very much like your contemporary southwest decor and design - a nice light touch and we were surprised to find it well stocked in the kitchen - too bad we stopped by the grocery before we came to the house! Very nice to find real flowers and a pizza in the freezer! (which we didn't eat, but it could have come in handy). Lambert's restaurant was as good as we remembered. Happy to find a few "old friends" left on the restaurant scene. Best, Kathleen & Allen Lebeck (from Albuequerque, NM) and Elissa Lebeck (from New York City)

At Casa Paloma, you will truly feel the 'peacefulness' of this lovely home. Walk in the door and relax in a soothing yet sophisticated decor. It is beautiful and yet very cozy! Enjoy the private patio with its hot tub and little garden complete with flowers, grass (except when covered by snow!), a tree and view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. A private quiet peaceful hidden get-away, yet close to stores, restaurants, etc. Even the UPS man was surprised at how we are in the center of town and yet hidden away!

Modern, Quiet, Beautiful, Charming... what more could you want??!!!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed, with another couple, at Casa Paloma and look forward to coming back! Every communication from the owner was very friendly, patient, helpful, and quick. Our dog was made especially welcome with a clean bed and there was a special spot with food/water bowls waiting for her. The home was very clean and modern. Every need seemed well-thought-out, we didn't have to run to the store to purchase something we couldn't find or that wasn't there.

The furniture in the living area was COMFORTABLE and attractive which we appreciated especially while reading the local papers/magazines making plans for the next day. This property has a charming back patio area: a large table under cover which allows you to hang out and stay dry during the afternoon rain/thunderstorm which opens to grassy area with a huge shade tree to keep the heat down plus a small flower garden... it is simply charming! We didn't have enough time to enjoy the barbeque or the hot tub - hopefully next time.

The location was quiet with no road/traffic noise (it is located on a gravel drive with a few neighbors so that is the only thing you hear, the very-occasional crunching of gravel). It is an easy-to-find location.

I would definitely recommend this property to friends/relatives. THANK YOU!!!

Enchanting Casa Paloma !

  • 5 of 5
Great family vacation. We really enjoyed the comfort and adobe style of Casa Paloma.
Enchanting. Great location, close to the city center and ski valley but just far enough from the traffic and noise. The owner was so kind, they left a Christmas gift for our son under the tree. My wife is a clean freak, so she really enjoyed the cleanliness, new construction and furniture. We are definitively going back.

Perfect for our needs!

  • 5 of 5
We were looking for a home base for hiking, shopping, sight seeing, etc, that would also accept our dog. This condo was so comfortable and wonderfully furnished, we did not want to leave! The owner has thought of every possible need and made sure the rental was equipped with it.
As far as things to do - the Taos Pueblo was really interesting and hiking in the ski valley was unbelievable. I highly recommend visiting Taos Mesa Brewing (a little bit out of town), the Love Apple, and Antonios.
You definitely need a car or bicycles, as the condo is not within a walkable distance of much. But that being said, it is perfectly quiet and relaxing in the evening. Wonderful for a get-away!

Great choice for Taos

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I have stayed at over 30 VRBO's, and this was one of the best. The owner keeps the place extremely well maintained, made everything easy to use, and went out of her way to make a comfortable environment for our handicapped pet. Unlike many VRBO's, the place is well stocked with all your needs for cooking and ordinary daily living. Taos naturally is beautiful, the place is only a few minutes from down town, 30 minutes from the Rio Grande bridge, and there's beautiful ride heading northeast into the mountains, and probably 30 minutes to Taos Ski area. If you're going to Taos, stay here...

Serene and beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5
This was a perfect short vacation for me and perfect in everyway! My BFF and I needed a much deserved getaway for the girls. It was as perfect as it gets. The owner was so very helpful and made it seem she was our personal vacationg travel guide. I don't think the pictures do justice for Casa Paloma, not to mention the Casa had everything we needed and more. Taos was soo.. very nice but then we found ourseleves yearning to go home and just drink wine and enjoy the outside patio and listen to the quiteness that was offered. The personal touches in every room did not go unoticed and and gave me the total sense of being in a 4 star hotel. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when i visit again, and hope to be soon!!!

Casa Paloma: a Cozy Family Ski Retreat

  • 5 of 5
We have skied TSV twice--each time renting a home and this was a delightful, clean and cozy place for us to retreat to every evening. The pictures do not do justice to the home's local flare and soothing decor. The set up was perfect for our family of 4, including two young boys. We cooked and ate-in most evenings, just as happy with the Casa de Paloma atmosphere, as a restaurant. We found the detailed "Welcome" binder helpful to a "T" and appreciated how much thought went into anticipating visitors' needs and questions. The location is ideal; close to eateries, shopping, skiing AND BASKIN ROBBINS! By day, we conquered the ski runs and at night, we all indulged in the dessert runs to Baskin Robbins. Ski runs and dessert runs--a perfect combo for our family, all based out of a perfectly cozy home. We would stay at Casa Paloma again without hesitation, as well as recommend it to family and friends.
