This cottage was built by our grandfather in 1955. It is called Overbank because it is nestled in some trees at the very top of a bank with a 180 degree view of beautiful Lake George. It has a 24’ long screened in porch with dining table for six which looks directly down on the water. The window in the bedroom opens onto the porch so you can hear the lapping of waves below you as you go to sleep in a comfy queen sized bed.

The crystal clear water, pine scented air and gorgeous mountains that change color throughout the day and seasons draw people back to the basics. The scenic beauty causes people to relax a little more each day as they swim, hike, boat or stare into a fire with family and friends.

Great Vacation Cottage

This cottage is wonderful on Lake George, NY! It's clean, simple, very refreshing with mountain view of the foliage, a dock on Lake George for stargazing, and a canoe for paddling to islands across the lake for adventures! My boyfriend and I also climbed Thomas Mountain nearby to get a better view of the lake. I loved the hot shower too!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. The same day you left we started making improvements for next year! We bought a cute gas-fueled wood stove for the chilly nights and mornings. My husband and I spent the weekend (early October) at the cabin and it was fantastic. The scenery is just breathtaking! The lack of cell phone reception was a little overwhelming at first but by the second day the peace and quiet was refreshing. Everything was clean and basic amenities were provided. Working with Glenn was great and he was always willing to answer questions or give recommendations. We can't wait to go back perhaps in warmer weather as the lake and dock area was great. I've never seen water that clear (even in the Caribbean). I would recommend this cabin to a couple looking for a weekend away or a family looking for an adventurous vacation.
