Downtown Cashiers offers unique shopping and a variety of restaurants. A short drive up the road and spend a relaxing day in Highlands shopping and dining. Or drive about an hour to Cherokee and catch the well known drama 'Unto These Hills' and maybe try your hand in Harrah's Casino. Only an hour and a half drive to Ashville and you can enjoy a variety of shopping destinations in Biltmore Square and visit the beautiful and majestic Biltmore Manor. A short drive to Franklin and you can mine for gems. Also a short drive down the road and you can catch a ride on the Smokey Mountains Railroad in Dillsboro. About 30 minutes down the road you will arrive in Brevard, the Land of Waterfalls. Take a scenic drive through the Smokey Mountain National Park but don't forget to check out Sliding Rock. During the summer months the Park offers day camp and special activities for all ages.
Lastly, if you don't want to spend time driving, you can check out the many activities at the Sapphire Valley Community Center. The Sapphire Community Center offers day trips to places of interest, indoor pool, arcade room, fitness room, bingo, DVD rentals, and putt-putt golf, massages and facials. There are summer concerts, snow skiing and snow tubing is available during winter months. Don't forget to check out the numerous streams for fishing, whitewater rafting, canoeing, tubing, and beautiful hiking trails. There is a beautiful lake, Lake Glenville, just minutes from the house. A boat ramp is available to launch your boat or sea doo with plenty of parking. You can also rent boats at the marina.
Enjoy the cool mountain air as you sit on the porch and take in the view. Don't be too surprised to catch sight of some playful black bears roaming in the woods below. This home is nicely situated on a wooded lot which allows for privacy.
