PUNTA MARTINEAU-LUXURY VILLA NEXT TO W RETREAT & SPA

I recommend that anyone who wishes to stay in Vieques don't look any further than Punta Martineau. The oceanfront views are magnificent. The atmosphere exquisite and the property is very well maintained. All the amenities that you need are at your disposal. And the location is right next store to the new W Retreat and Spa as well as within minutes of shopping and entertainment. You couldn't ask for more.

We had a once in a lifetime visit at Vieques. The staff at Punta Martineau was wonderful and helped us with any of our needs. Even stopping and opening up a coconut while driving by! The house was georgeous with just a few minor maintenance needs that a screw driver or wrench would take care of... The location is awesome and the view to die for...It's fantastic to walk out your door and be welcomed by the horses that frequent the area. We had 3 villas at the time and all of them were wonderful.. The island life is something that I would like to come back and experience for a longer time that just a week. I can't believe that there is no stop lights and not even one accident while we were there.. Bio luminess bay at night was great and the beaches on the other side of the island were fantastic. I especially enjoyed Blue and Red beach ... Even seeing land crabs crossing the road...You definately need to rent a vehicle for transportation since we never once saw a city bus. The market was wonderful when you figure out what day the food is delivered and watch the gas stations. They usually run out over the weekend so make sure you fill up so you won't get stranded. We pre-ordered food and beer prior to coming for a BBQ and it was wonderful.. The W Retreat was beautiful and high class if you can afford the accomodations. The puddles jumpers are quite an experience and be fore warned, pack light since our luggage did not make either flight. Be sure and pack a suit and light clothes separate and bring your meds with you. We really enjoyed watching the helicopters land accross the street and see how the other people do it!!!!
I would definately come back again.

The villa was in a nice location with security, close to the airport, and with stunning views on a ridge overlooking the Atlantic. It was very windy the first few days, but that improved halfway through our stay as the skies became clearer. A car is a must so one can explore the whole island and navigating is easy since there are few main roads and the island is small. Many of the nicer swimming beaches are on the other side of the island in the undeveloped areas, but only about 10-15 minutes from Punta Martineau villa. And many of the good restaurants are also only 5-15 minutes away. Eating was very casual, and there are plenty of good ones to eat at that don't require reservations.
The villa itself is lovely and spacious and the property managers were very nice and helpful (Thank you, Hector!). We did not have WiFi access (due to circumstances out of their control), but everything else was pretty perfect.
It was my first visit to Vieques and I would love to go back some day!
