A Fab Home Away From Home

We stayed here for a week over Thanksgiving this year & it was the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. My husband, 2 year old son and I and our two guests stayed in Harriet's Hideaway, which suited our needs perfectly. It's a very comfortable and kid-friendly house with everything we needed for our stay including all the necessaries for making a Thanksgiving dinner for 13 people, with 3 of us cooking at once. The layout of the house was great for hanging out together in the evenings after our son was asleep (we appreciated the white noise machines that were already there!), and we loved that there is a grassy yard in the back separate from the pool in the front yard, so we didn't have to worry about his safety.
My parents and siblings stayed next door at Desi's, which they loved too. It's beautifully done inside and has all the comforts of home as well, not to mention the fabulous climate-friendly landscaping and the gorgeous pool and hot tub in the backyard. It really is a getaway!
The houses are located a few minutes drive from the main streets of downtown Palm Springs, and convenient to plenty of good grocery stores and restaurants. There is a park a few blocks away which was a bonus for us with a young child. We also enjoyed taking him to the Living Desert, on the tram up Mt. San Jacinto, and to other local attractions like Boomers and My Gym, as well as spending time swimming and relaxing at the houses.
It really was an ideal setup for us because we could go back and forth between the two houses as needed but all had our own space. The owner of the property and the property manager were very pleasant to work with as well. We would definitely recommend this place to others, and consider staying here again on our next visit.
