Clean comfortable home, great location!
We stayed at this lovely home the second week of August, 2011. It was sparkling clean, spacious and very family friendly. The large deck in the backyard and the spacious dining room overlook beautiful Naragansett Bay and a golf course. The views are beautiful, very peaceful and for nature lovers, there is a wealth of wildlife to see. A short bike ride down Naragansett street leads to a bike path where you can go approximately 6 miles round trip.
The location is wonderful for exploring beautiful Rhode Island. We made excursions to Port Judith, Jamestown and Beavertail Lighthouse (gorgeous). We spent a day at Naragansett Beach where my son enjoyed riding the waves but, it wasn't too rough to prevent my elderly in-laws from swimming. We went to historic Wickford and enjoyed lunch at the Tavern on the Sea. Our favorite restaurant, also in Wickford is Duffy's Tavern (excellent seafood and reasonably priced). We ate in the tavern (very casual) and later we noticed a large restaurant section out back but, I don't know if this was open for lunch. They served the largest lobster roll I have ever seen (and I am from New England)!
The lighthouse cruise is a MUST. Ten lighthouses in 95 minutes! The cruise also takes you into Newport harbor where you can see hundreds of sailboats and yachts. It was great seeing RI from the water.
The house was everything the owner said it would be, and more. I fell in love with this home more and more every day of our stay. I would recommend this home in a heartbeat. The owner provided brochures, maps, and a welcoming letter explaining everything you need to know.
We can't wait to go back!
