The Hideaway is brand new on the vacation rental market. It is the ground level, on grade apartment at Jeff's Bed & Fix Your Own Breakfast which has been a very popular vacation rental house since it was built in 2004. This 1100 sf 2 bdrm/1 bath is a great addition to the Long beach community. It boasts 'the most affordable accommodations with a view and a short walk to the beach' and everything inside is brand new this season. You can look forward to a comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen. Two couples or one family can stay for less than $800 per week. The owners, Jeff and Barby, have over 10 years experience with 6 other vacation rentals in Long Beach and Florida, so you are in good hands if you need anything!

The Hideaway is located on a quiet street in the friendly community of Long Beach. We are on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Calvert County about 15 minutes north of Solomons Island. We are 6 houses from a beautiful sandy beach that you can see from the patio of your flat. You can sunbathe, swim, walk along the beaches and pick up sharks teeth and fossils that are millions of years old, fish, kayak and take in the Chesapeake Bay.

All bedrooms are furnished with new IKEA furnishings, new comfortable, pillowtop mattresses and are painted with beachy colors and themes. There is a new IKEA futon bed in the living room if needed.. Bring your own linen's and towels or we can offer them to you at no additional cost by your request. Everything else is included.

Notes: The Hideaway is an on grade , park at your door, vacation rental. It would be great for elderly and wheelchairs because there are no steps and a wide entry door. The bathroom is a standard size with full tub, so it won't meet current handicap requirements. We supply a roll of Paper towels and TP to get you started. This is a very nice, 3 years new , apartment that is brand new on the vacation rental market. It's the most affordable lodging this close to the Chesapeake Bay.

Great place to stay!

My husband and I just returned home from a wonderful week's stay at The Hideaway. The place was great, very clean and comfortable. We were in the area for our son's wedding and wanted to stay afterwards since we had never been to MD. Also, our younger son and his girlfriend needed a place to stay for the weekend. This was perfect with plenty of room for all of us. There's lots to do in this beautiful area and we loved having the beach within walking distance. The little patio was our favorite spot for morning coffee and relaxing in the evenings. The neighborhood is very quiet with friendliest, nicest neighbors. Jeff and Pam were great to work with and repsonded to questions and needs very quickly. We would not hesitate to come again. Thanks for everything!

Best vacation ever had

We're in love with this place. This is the best vacation we ever had. If you need to relax and get away from the routine this is the place you want to be in.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Both property manger Pamela and owner Jeff are very helpful folks. We had rented kayaks from Solomon's island and which were delivered to us directly on flag harbor beach which was very convenient.

We'll definitely come back here for more.

We found the "HIDEAWAY" at very short notice due to our travel plans.
JEFF & BARBY were very accomodating to our requirements and nothing was too much.
The apartment, the surroundings and the welcome from our hosts far exceeded our expectations.
The property was clean and well appointed.
The very short walk to the beach was a godsend during the heatwave of 2011.
(The AC and ceiling fans were also well appreciated.The sea breeze was also very welcome.)
During morning and evening when it was cooler it was great sitting out on the deck area in the morning eating breakfast and relaxing at the end of the day having a drink and BBQ.
There are stacks of things to do and see locally if required or just crash out on the beach.
Would we return or recommend to friend or familly member.
In a heartbeat I would say "YES"
We had a fantastic stay.

The property is really convenient with beach access down the road. In addition, just a short drive away (2 minutes) is an even larger beach that you can access with your property pass.

The cleanliness of the property is also impressive. Great size and decor. I wish we had stayed longer to fully utilize everything the property had to offer.

In addition, the owner was available to answer any questions or concerns we had.

All in all, a great experience.

Hide-away

I rented the "Hide Away" thinking it was two bedrooms in addition to the main part of the house. I was excited to discover it was a completely separate apartment but attached to the main apartment. I could enjoy my family but if I wanted some privacy I just went downstairs. The place was clean, homey, and beautifully decorated. Each room had its own theme. The area was absolutely beautiful. There were so many things to do and see we had to watch our time to include as much as we could in the week we were in St Leonards. Jeff was very easy to work with and I truly can't think of anything I did not like. I would like to come back again and would not hesitate to recommend the property to my friends and relatives. We had ribs, seafood and fast food all of which was excellent. The book is a wealth of information about the area.
