Tall Pines Cottage is available for rent weekly from Saturday 3pm to Saturday 10:00am.

This very spacious home (built in 2001) sleeps 6 (three bedrooms with queen beds) with an option for 2 additional people on a sleep sofa. There is an eat-in kitchen, full size dining room with seating for 8; a spacious living room with wood stove; fabulous cedar porch; 2 car garage, gas grill and the home is just a 2 minute walk down to the idyllic fishing village of Bass Harbor. The house enjoys a view of the water and with just a 2 minute walk, guests can be sitting on the dock, or enjoying a Maine lobster dinner on the patio at Seafood Ketch restaurant.

About the home: Tall Pines Cottage is available for rent weekly from Saturday 3:00pm to Saturday 10:00am. Check-in is after 3:00 pm and check-out by 10:00 am. This very spacious home (built in 2001) sleeps 6 (three bedrooms with queen beds) with an option for 2 additional people on a sleep sofa. There is an eat-in kitchen, full size dining room with seating for 8; a spacious living room with wood stove; fabulous cedar porch; 2 car garage, gas grill and the home is just a 2 minute walk down to the idyllic fishing village of Bass Harbor. The house enjoys a view of the water and with just a 2 minute walk, guests can be sitting on the dock, or enjoying a Maine lobster dinner on the patio at Seafood Ketch restaurant.

This is a housekeeping cottage cleaned after each stay. Towels and linens are provided,cooking utensils as well.

The Area: Bass Harbor is the absolute idyllic spot when we think of Maine Coast. Not touristy like Bar Harbor, but close enough - about 15 miles. This is a quaint fishing village and Tall Pines Cottage is just a minute's walk to the harbor. Beautiful views to the west of the Western Mountains toward Bernard are an amazing backdrop for the harbor.

It's on a wonderfully quiet residential street, but only a one minute walk down to the harbor. In Bass Harbor (in walking distance) there are two restaurants, a working lobster pier, an antique store, ferry terminal to Swan's Island, a shuttle bus stop (the free Island Explorer shuttle) and close by is the Bass Head Lighthouse and some nature trails.

This is the best vacation rental experience we have had. The house was bright, comfortable, very clean, and worked well for 3 couples in our family. Everything we needed was available. Plenty of room to relax in several locations in the house. Comfortable beds. The location was perfect for quietness and easy access to the busy side of the island. We enjoyed Southwest Harbor and the Island Cruise nature tour. We would highly recommend this spot.

PERFECT VACATION HOME!

We were repeat vacationers at this delightful house on the "quiet side" of Mount Desert Island and loved it just as much as we did the first time! The complete listing accurately describes every detail focused aspect of Tall Pine Cottage. The setting is ideal for a Maine get-a-way. The house is well maintained and stocked down to necessary paper products. A quick summer storm resulted in a call to the readily available caretaker to faciliate re-setting the Wi-Fi for our socially connected daughters. We loved our evening walks down by the harbor and mornings exploring the nearby
lighthouse and seawall. We took advantage of the many outdoor offerings such as kayaking and biking plus enjoyed the cozy little front room for reading time. The rest of the island is quickly accessible for shopping in nearby Bar Harbor or our favorite- whale watching! - plus the delicious restaurant offerings in Southwest Harbor - we especially enjoyed dining at "Sips" and picking up cookies from "Little Notch Bakery" to take while biking and
kayaking. Unequivocally recommend this wonderful vacation rental!

What a wonderful place to stay!

My husband, I, and four children (ages 10, 9, 7, & 4) stayed at the Tall Pines Cottage in Bass Harbor Maine last week. The house was perfect! It had everything we would need (including the basic paper towels, toilet paper, sponges, dish detergent, etc.). There was a large walk in closet and master bath connected to the master bedroom. The decor was comfortable with a seaside feel. The kids were very excited because they saw a deer in the backyard their first morning! The house was impeccable in every way. We had never been up there and was originally concerned re: the location from Bass Harbor to Acadia but did not find it to be a problem at all. It was a beautiful house to come home to. I highly recommend it!

TALL PINES COTTAGE

I rented this cottage last year and liked it so much that I knew this was the place I wanted to vacation again for the fall foliage.
The house is beautifully furnished and very very clean. This is important to me since so many vacation homes have odd smells and dirty furniture. Every single extra is included such as contact information, restaurant info, a landline phone, a little office/room with a desk for your computer. etc. My personal favorite was the sitting room on the second floor which allows great views and is a really relaxing place to just sit and read.
The house is perfectly located on a residential street which is just far enough from the main road to be private but still close enough to get to Southwest Harbor and the shops and restaurants in mere minutes. By far this is the best vacation home I have stayed at (and I have rented lots!) in the entire Acadia region. Many thanks to the wonderful property managers for making this the perfect getaway!

Outstanding Vacation Home

We highly recommend this home to anyone that is looking for a quality vacation rental on Mount Desert Island. The house is spotless and the decorations and amenities were fantastic and just like home. The rooms were all spacious and bright. The rear 3 season porch was great to sit on in the eveing after a day of hiking and biking.

Location is a stones throw from Bass Harbor and the drive was easy to anywhere on the island. The owners were excellent to work with and I would highly recommend this to anyone. When we travel we always look for rental homes and this one is by far one of the best we have encountered.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
