The cottage at the GingerBread Barnyard has one bedroom, one full bath, and a full kitchen as well as a grill on the deck. It is a real live barnyard with friendly animals for you to watch and interact with! The cottage has a covered deck on the back that overlooks the barnyard where you can watch the animals.. and when you want to pet and feed them you can arrange supervised interactions with the animals. Your whole family will love the animals and you won't even have to leave the property to have an adventure! There are sheep, goats, pigs, geese, ducks, roosters, chickens, and turkeys for you to meet. We're about 25 minutes north of Asheville and all of the area's restaurants, shopping, attractions, and activities.

The cottage is about 25 minutes north of the shops and restaurants of downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. The area has lots of outdoor activities, arts and crafts, and the beautiful scenery of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The cottage is also only minutes from the Wolf Laurel Ski Resort.

Come and Meet the Animals!: The GingerBread Barnyard has a real live barnyard with friendly animals for you to watch and interact with! The cottage has a covered deck on the back that overlooks the barnyard where you can watch the animals.. and when you want to pet and feed them you can arrange supervised interactions with the animals. Your whole family will love the animals and you won't even have to leave the property to have an adventure! There are sheep, goats, pigs, geese, ducks, roosters, chickens, and turkeys for you to meet!

Get Away From it All!: The GingerBread Barnyard is close to all of the activities and attractions of Asheville, but tucked away from it all on a country mountain road. All of the roads leading to the cottage are paved except for the last 1/2 mile, which is a dirt road. Most cars have no problems driving on the road. Cars with very low ground effects might have some difficulty, please contact us for more info.

Personal Attention: The owners of the GingerBread Barnyard live in an adjacent house on the property and are available at all times to assist you in any way you need.

We enjoyed staying at the Gingerbread barnyard very much. Our son loved to look at the animals and watch them walk around in the barnyard. The cabin had everything we needed for the week. It was very relaxing and a fun experience. We look forward to staying here again!

Great getaway, very friendly owners, will go again

We spent the July 4th weekend in this cabin. Our 2 year old enjoyed petting the barnyard animals. Jackie and Salli (owners) live right across the barn, and are very friendly. Overall it was a great experience and we plan to go there again. The owners had kept the cabin with meticulous detail... we found everything we needed.

Since the place is nestled in the mountains, my ATT wireless/cellphone didn't catch a signal... I guess it is a getaway;-)

There weren't a lot of attractions close to the place... The cabin is about 30 minutes from Asheville, so we could go to downtown Asheville during the day and visit the attractions and get back before dark... If you like vegetarian food, Laughing Seed restaurant in Asheville is great. We liked the food much.

The last half a mile going up to the cabin is gravel roads... It helps to have a 4x4, but our Highlander 4x2 did just fine.
