CHRISTIAN'S KEEP - EXPERIENCE AFFORDABLE ST. AUGUSTINE CHARM

St. Augustine Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6 - a fully equipped renovated bungalow

Christian’s Keep is a quaint, comfortable bungalow in the historic Lincolnville District of St. Augustine. Originally built in 1930, and fully renovated in 2007 by Christian Voelkel, Christian’s Keep provides a great respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life – nothing can beat the serenity and charm of this quiet neighborhood. Just a short distance (3/4 mile) to museums, shops, and restaurants on Saint George Street, our bungalow is convenient yet out-of-the-way enough to offer all the peace and quiet you need in a vacation getaway.

The practical three bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

Bedrooms: The practical 3 bedroom, 2 bath floor plan accommodates up to six overnight guests. The spacious living area, kitchen, and dining area provide a comfy 'home base' for you during your visit to St. Augustine – our nation’s oldest city.

The master suite is well equipped with a queen bed, a cozy reading area with a rocking chair and antique table, an inviting bathroom just through the double French doors, and a large tiled shower. The bedroom opens onto the back deck.

An antique double bed with a comfortable pillow-top mattress is the centerpiece of the guest bedroom. This room also has a large chest of drawers, bedside tables, and reading lamps.

The third 'bedroom' contains a futon which opens into a full size (double) bed. This room can double as a separate 'playroom' for children.

Kitchen & Living Areas: The modern kitchen is fully equipped, providing you the opportunity to cook meals on-site, rather than having to spend lots of money going out for all of your meals. A large Charmglow gas grill is located on the back deck for grilling your favorite steak, fish, or whatever the chef has in mind.

The dining area seats four and the table can be pulled out to comfortably seat 6. Extra chairs are available in the antique drop-leaf game table in the large entry hallway.

Christian’s Keep also has a full sized washer and dryer located in the laundry area – we provide all of the comforts of home! Why settle for just a hotel or a 'bed and breakfast inn'?

Come Immerse yourself in southern charm in your own historic cottage on Twine Street.

Very nice!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this charming little house in the historic Lincolnville section of St. Augustine for a week. We ended up going to the beach at the Anastasia State Park most days and thought it was just lovely. We loved being so close to the town center and still have just a short drive to the beach. The house itself is beautifully renovated, comfortably furnished and very well equipped. Highly recommended!

Charming Cottage!!

  • 5 of 5
Wonderful stay! We stayed at Christian's Keep for one week in July. Christian's Keep is adorable!! Comfortable, roomy, relaxing, clean and feels like home! Love the open floor plan and love how it is decorated. Bedrooms are cozy and beds are comfortable. Four adults and our pups stayed at CK, and there was plenty of room. Fenced in yard was a plus!! The kitchen is great and well stocked. The washer/dryer closet was a huge plus (well stocked with detergent and dryer sheets). The location is in a quiet area with lots of trees. It is close enough to town so that you can drive to St.George Street. So much to see and do ~ too much to list :). Trolley tour is a must. It stops at all the sights and allows you to get on and off throughout the day. It is worth it. Drive-on, dog-friendly beach is also a must. So nice and super clean!! The owners are very nice and wonderful to work with! A former co-worker docks her boat a few blocks from CK, and I was able to visit with her after 8 years of her moving to FL!! Thanks Christian's Keep for a lovely time!! We will definitely be back sometime in the future!

Cozy, clean, modern, and well stocked

  • 5 of 5
First impression when I drove into the rocky driveway was "Wow! This is the nicest whimsical looking cottage ever!" It's a hidden gem unlike any of the other surrounding properties. Upon entrance, you can feel a sense of calm and peace. A very open floor plan that is not too large but perfect for invoking that cozy cottage feel. I loved the modern kitchen area that was open to the living room and dining area. It was well stocked with everything except aluminum foil and ziploc bags...not a negative, but making a point of how well stocked this place is with everything you need to eliminate any worries that you forgot something. The washer and dryer closet is stocked with detergent and dryer sheets. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms had the bear necessities, but bring your own toilet paper in case what is there runs out since there was none stocked in the supply room. Parking in the downtown area is very difficult to find, so be forewarned. That is where the bikes in the shed came in handy. It was great to stroll through the area unhampered. The cottage is about 15 minutes walking distance if you don't want to ride the bike or drive. We stood three nights and it wasn't enough. There is just too much to see and do in St. Augustine. Museum prices are reasonable and were great to visit when it rained on our last night. We enjoyed eating at Pizally on St. George Street each night. Their pizza is pretty good, as is there pastas, cheesy half moons, and selection of wines. End the night with dessert at Kilwan's. I regret not doing the trolley tour. It stops at all the sights and allows you to get off and back on throughout the day. It's worth spending to do that. We barely spent enough time at the cottage, but it was great to come back to unwind and get a good nights sleep. I'm looking forward to returning next year!

Owner's Response: We appreciate this great feedback! We do try to keep a good stock of TP, but will certainly make checking our stock a higher priority. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay, and we look forward to having you as our guests again the next time you visit St. Augustine.

Fun little cottage.

Very enjoyable vacation home-comfortable and well equipped. The cottage is located in an easy walking area. The fenced in yard for my little dog is a bonus. The close proximity to downtown and the college is great. I attended several lectures and events at the college and became familiar with many local folks.

I rented this property along with my now mother in law for my wedding weekend. Both owner and wife were great to work with and very accommodating. My husband's family were very pleased and comfortable with their stay. I will definitely rent this beautiful home again!
