Important Note::
Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on Salmon Creek beach in order to protect the Snowy Plover, an endangered local bird. However, dogs on leash ARE allowed on the following beaches, Doran (a safe, fun place for both children and pets), Bodega Dunes, just south of Salmon Creek, Wrights Beach and Portugese Beach, both just a very short drive north of Salmon Creek.
The Local Art Scene:
There are several artists living and working in Salmon Creek village. If you would be interested in a studio tour let us know and we will set up a tour for you. Other local art/galleries in the Bodega Bay area include: West County Gallery (Valley Ford), Ren Brown (Bodega Bay), Local Color (Bodega Bay), Hand Goods (Occidental) and for the best bread you've ever had stop in Freestone, about 15 minutes inland through the delightful town of Bodega.
Local Restaurants:
For clam chowder you can't beat Spud Point Crab Co. on Eastshore Rd by the marina. Our best local restaurant for intimate dining, excellent food and delightful owners is Terrapin Creek Cafe, located just after the turn onto Eastshore Rd. Bluewater Bistro at the clubhouse in Bodega Harbour has great views and Thursday night jazz. Sandpiper at the Pelican Plaza offers beach food, The Duck Club (Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa) on the way out to Doran Beach has fabulous views and high end dining. On Friday nights the local wine shop, Gourmet au Bay, has happy hour so come enjoy some wine or beer while you sit on the back deck and enjoy the best harbour view and picture perfect sunsets.
