The romance of a classic knotty pine beach cottage with white water ocean and beach views far up the Sonoma Coast is available at The Beach Cottage. This very warm, cozy and somewhat quirky cottage is decorated in authentic vintage 'beach'; colorful, joyful and fun. Bask in the views of sand, surf and Salmon Creek where it meets the sea. Watch the sun set on the ocean from your front row seat by the (gas) fireplace. Get lost in the ocean’s symphony as it crashes to shore. You can take a 5 minute stroll to the beach through our tiny village on narrow streets filled with wonderful old beach houses. Take a few moments as you walk by Salmon Creek to feed the geese. The kitchen has everything necessary to create dinners of fresh seafood from the marina. Or go out to eat...there are several wonderful local restaurants. Interested in the 'art scene'? Let us know and we can provide a private artists studio tour within the village. To do or not to do...that's the question at The Beach Cottage!!

Important Note:: Please be aware that dogs are not allowed on Salmon Creek beach in order to protect the Snowy Plover, an endangered local bird. However, dogs on leash ARE allowed on the following beaches, Doran (a safe, fun place for both children and pets), Bodega Dunes, just south of Salmon Creek, Wrights Beach and Portuguese Beach, both just a very short drive north of Salmon Creek. Also, doggies ARE allowed off leash in the dunes right here around the village where they can run and run and chase all those things real and imaginary that dogs like to chase.

The Local Art Scene: There are several artists living and working in Salmon Creek village. If you would be interested in a studio tour let us know and we will set one up for you. Other local art/galleries in the Bodega Bay area include: West County Gallery (Valley Ford), Ren Brown (Bodega Bay), Local Color (Bodega Bay), Hand Goods (Occidental) and for the best bread you've ever had stop in at Wild Flour in Freestone, about 15 minutes inland through the delightful town of Bodega (where Alfred Hitchcock filmed 'The Birds').

Local Restaurants: For clam chowder you can't beat Spud Point Crab Co. on Eastshore Rd by the marina. Our best local restaurant for intimate dining, excellent food and delightful owners is Terrapin Creek Cafe, located just after the turn onto Eastshore Rd. Bluewater Bistro at the clubhouse in Bodega Harbour has great views and Thursday night jazz. Sandpiper at the Pelican Plaza offers beach food, The Duck Club (Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa) on the way out to Doran Beach has fabulous views and high end dining. On Friday nights the local wine shop, Gourmet au Bay, has happy hour so come enjoy some wine or beer while you sit on the back deck and enjoy the best harbor view and picture perfect sunsets.

Strolling to the beach is a delightful walk thru an unspoiled, vintage beach village without a highway between you and the ocean. You can beach comb for miles along the coast. The Beach Cottage is quiet and peaceful where you can hear the ocean and shore birds calling. Sit on the new rear deck and watch exquisite sunsets or sit on the front deck and watch the sunrise over the hills to the east. Ahhh, life at the beach....

My husband & I have been going to Bodega Bay for over 20 years but never stayed in Salmon Creek. The beach cottage was just the ticket for us. Our trip was planned around the annual Fisherman's Festival and again the cottage was ideal - not too far to drive. The cottage was very comfortable, with a fun and eclectic decor fitting the beach. We enjoyed our quick getaway and promise to return to the beach cottage. Highly recommend for a couple seeking the real beach style.

Great Time :)

We had a great quite time at this cottage. It was great for 3 people. It was nice to go walking on the beach.The sunset from the chair on the back deck every evening was breath taking. We emjoyed the great view . There was great dinning in Bodega Bay . We learned that they had filmed the Movie "The Birds" in Bodega Bay. We went Beach combing in the early morning and found shells and Sand Dollars and red crabs. Grocery's were a little spendy. There was great dinning in Bodega Bay. Dianna was very helpful with what ever we needed. We would go back again :)

Peace and Quiet with a View

The cottage was the perfect place for relaxing, reading and enjoying the ocean view. It was central to get to the beaches, Occidental and Bodega Bay. The fireplace made it nice and cozy in the chilly mornings and evenings. We enjoyed walking through the village and looking at houses, geese and wildflowers. We loved watching the water and stars, and didn't even turn on the TV. Thanks for the great weekend!

Peaceful, Cozy Cottage

We stayed for three night in September 2010. It was the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, no cell phone coverage, quiet and serene. Short walk to a beach that many times was ours alone. Short drive to Bodega Bay and all the resturants, but be aware they all close very early. The owner was a dol, gave me a tour of her studio and even gave me some naked ladies which are going strong in my garden. I would definately stay here again. Well worth it.
