Mendocino House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-4)
This 1860's home is large and comfortable. Although rustic, beds are all new and very comfortable, and it is one of the only homes in the entire area with a path directly to the beach from the back yard.
Great for couples or a family. Everything is within walking distance, including coffee, restaurants, ice cream, two beaches, whale watching, live theater, shops and site seeing.
The great relaxing Mendocino Sweetwater Spa is right across the street for either a massage or a soak.
For that true needed relaxation the Mendocino beach house is the place. Just watch the waves from your deck as you drink some local wine, have a picnic lunch, or take a walk down the special beach path and explore the caves and look for shells and sea glass. Rented only once a month.

Guestbook comments from the owner
The Mendocino beach house was in an amazing location, we walked to everything in town and through the backyard down to the beach. We could see and hear the ocean from the house. There wasn't a dedicated driveway/garage available, but an area in front of the front yard's fence where several cars would be able to park. Although we did not meet anyone in person at the house, you can feel the history of it being a favorite family getaway house for many years just by walking inside. For us, that was a positive -- lots of interesting artifacts, eclectic lamps, antique appliances, older dvd and board games, even old records, and yes art, filled it with charm and lent a homey, lived-in vibe. I wouldn't call it cluttered, but a minimalist might be uncomfortable with the plethora of driftwood on the patio. I felt totally at ease with many memories of my own childhood beach trips! The kitchen and 2 bathrooms are small with older amenities but fully functional. Life in the house definitely centers around the large living room with a fireplace, large back porch, and huge backyard with a firepit. We spent several hours there just looking at stars :) The house felt like it could handle a big family but I think because of plumbing and the drought the owner prefers to limit guests. Overall, we had a wonderful time and definitely hope to return to stay here again.
