Wailea Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Murphy Bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3-4)

Completely remodeled in June 2013. Our corner 2nd floor unit affords the best views in the complex. Our side window looks down the beach and our front beachfront view is only about 20' away from the sand.

Our unit is NOT stripped out of the sugar, salt and pepper like most other rental units, but is left stocked with spices, drinks, and left over adult beverages from us and previous guests.

We have a Vizio 42' HD TV in the bed room and a new 50' HD in the living room. In case business calls, we leave a HP 4 in one printer to hook up to your lap top. Free Wi-Fi for your use....etc....

We are consistently less per night that other units. Our maid comes in when you leave to clean for the next guest. This is our home away from home that we use consistently.

Please see our web page, or call or email us for further information or questions you may have.

About Les Wright

Two retired teachers who love the beach and the island life. We live in Lake Tahoe in the summer and Maui when we get too cold and tire of skiing in the winter. We put on the Maui Oceanfront Marathon in late January, so January is never available.

We also put on the Lake Tahoe Marathon in September, so September is always available.

Les Wright purchased this condo in 1997

Why Les Wright chose Wailea

There are plenty of pretty places to jog. Friday night is Art Night in Lahaina. One or more of the many galleries will have an artist showing their works, usually serving wine and hors d'oeuvres. Then stay for dinner at one of the many oceanfront restaurants. Do get your picture taken with colorful parrots perched on your shoulder as you stroll the waterfront outside the historic Pioneer Inn on Front Street. About 8 miles north of our place, at Ma'alaea Bay, is the Maui Ocean Center (The Hawaiian Aquarium). In the same area is the ancient Kealia Fishpond. About 5 miles north of HPH is outstanding windsurfing and is where the giant green turtles come to lay their eggs. You may see yellow road signs warning of turtle crossings. (they don't last long) There are surf lessons half mile north and good surfing is a few blocks north and a mile south of our place. Windsurfing is also excellent 4 miles north and on the east side of the island. Scuba or snorkeling abounds. There is a dive shop about every other block, it seems. And nearest dive shop is across the street from our complex. On Thursday the Home owners organize a weekly Pu Pu Party. All guests are invited to bring something to share and your own beverage and enjoy the sunset with new friends. Any night is a good night to BBQ on our lawn overlooking the beach and help the sun set.

What makes this condo unique

Very friendly and social. Enjoy the company of new friends while BBQ and watching the sun go down. Our condo is a corner unit has an unobstructed view of the beach, 3 islands, and the sunset. Our extra side window looks south down the beach. The quarter mile long Kameole Beach II is just down our stairs. See whales between Dec and April just yards off shore. Dolphins often and turtles daily...

Great property!

  • 5 of 5
The renovations are done and the condo is beautiful! Very efficient storage capacities throughout and all the built-ins makes it feel airy because all of our stuff was able to be put away. The new furniture in the living room is stylish with ample and comfortable seating. The kitchen is so well stocked - just like home. There were all the staples needed in the fridge and cupboards - even left over booze and things like butter and beer! Location is 5 star - walkable to anywhere in the Kihei neighbourhood and of course Kam II beach on your doorstep. Amenities such as lounge chairs on the lawn and heated pool were appreciated. The owner is very organized with ample instructions for everything. Only one thing I would mention, and is easily fixable - the lack of more beach things such as an additional boogie board for the 2nd person; beach umbrella etc, but lots of snorkelling gear is available for your use. The condo has a pull out couch - we did not use it. Also a Murphy bed - we did use it on hot nights with the lanai doors open to let the sea breeze in. Lovely. We highly recommend this unit - it's bright, stylish, and so comfortable!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5
We loved Maui, Kihei, Kamaole II, Hale Pau Hana and this unit! While the goal was to spend as much time outside as possible, the condo was wonderful to hang out in - had everything we needed from food staples, guide books, beach stuff, killer view from the lanai, great feel in living room with the lanai sliding doors wide open. Kamaole II beach was one of our favorites - found the snorkeling to be awesome on the south end of the beach around the rocks - even sea turtles. Great places to walk to for both the kids and adults. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Great Condo/Great Value!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed 10 nights at this unit with our 2 kids, age 9 & 11. I was worried it would be very small for us, and worried about the sleeping arrangement - but it all worked out great. We put 1 child on the murphy bed, and 1 on the pull out sofa. Owner had warned me that the pull out sofa was uncomfortable, but my 9 year old could of cared less. Everyone had a comfy place to sleep, and although it was cramped when both beds were down - it was just fine for us because we were only in the condo for sleeping and cooking a few meals. On Friday and Saturday nights the noise from S.Kihei Road was a bit loud late at night - you hear it most from the bedroom. If we hadnt had our kids there we probably would've slept on the murphy bed those nights to avoid the noise and maybe even the whole time b/c the murphy bed was quite comfortable and it was very pleasant in that part of the condo at night listening to the ocean.
The location of this condo is what made us feel is was a great value. Although it is not fancy by any stretch, and is in need of updating - we are not fancy people and this did not bother us. The million dollar views and location is what you pay for. The proximity to the beach is top notch, and we also enjoyed being across the street from some good eating establishments and the shave ice stand!
We also rented the owners car which also could not have worked out better. It is an older model SUV and was perfectly reliable and made us feel like locals not driving around in a rental car.
All in all I would say this was a 5 star VRBO experience. Owner Les was accommodating and responsive even when we had a little problem on arrival with the maid. We hope to be back!

Great Stay

  • 5 of 5
Aloha. The view of the beach and west facing sunsets every night was spectacular. Being located on a beach and not against rocky shores, made the sound of the ocean at night something to gently fall asleep to rather than harsh crashing surf found at non beach sites that is still beautiful, don't get me wrong, but very hard to sleep to. The location right on the corner closest to the beach at Kamaole II gave us the closest walk imaginable to the best beach in Maui. Out our door and there we were. There was a certain extra security in knowing we could see our Lanai from the beach and vice versa. The surf is safe and the beach sand fantastic. Beach towels and boogie boards provided were a nice touch for a great stay for the kids. The condo owner even had an SUV you could rent and I wish I had. It was in good shape and it would have saved me some money! The condo was great, the weather in Kihei just as great. One thing I realized on Maui and on any of the Hawaiin islands...........weather is so much different every 10 minutes in any direction that you drive. Check the weather network and it shows it's only 75 degrees and raining in Kihei when the whole time it was 85+ and not a drop of rain! Drive just 15 minutes towards the harbour in Maalaea and the wind wants to drive you into the ground but at Kihei the breeze is light and refreshing, especially along that fantastic beach. You need that breeze to cool you off and cool down the temperature of the sand beneath your feet a bit. Lol. Just dreamy weather the whole time and the locals tell me it's always that way in Kihei. Thanks very much Les. You were great to deal with and your condo lived up to the great weather and scenery. I certainly hope to be back soon! Mahalo. Ken, Rhonda and family

Cute and convenient

  • 5 of 5
This condo is five minutes from the Kihei boat dock which is perfect if you are divers and want to catch the boat without stress. We loved staying on the South part of the island and really had no reason to go up to Lahaina or Kapalua. We chose to sleep in the Murphy bed in the living room and listen to the ocean all night cooled by the tradewinds. This condo is all you need for a comfortable stay on Maui.
