Clean Home w/Beautiful View in a Quiet Setting

My husband, two children and I spent one week at this lovely home. The home was clean and well appointed (especially the kitchen... and the deck's grill was a big plus!) The size of the rooms are more "cottage" like than "house" like, but it comfortably fit our family of four. The beach is sandy and the water is so pleasant. We enjoyed searching for the "Big Kahuna" rock (a destination revealed to us by the neighbors), wading in the clear and spectacular water, driving to Huron National Forest and stopping at the overlooks, swimming under the "singing bridge" where the river meets the lake (very clear, cool water here), swimming in the nearby Au Sable river and skipping river rocks, and evening fireworks and firepit/smores right on the beach. The deck is nicely appointed with comfy chaise lounge chairs and chair seating. There is a good deal to do in the area, we were sorry to miss the Charity Island Ferry, but I understand from the locals that it's a "must see." The only reason that I gave this home 4 instead of 5 stars is because there is no air conditioning. The listing does not specifcy A/C and I mistakenly took this amenity for granted. I'm sure on most weeks this is fine, but we were there during a very hot week and we ended up purchasing fans for the rooms (there is only one ceiling fan in the living room). One box A/C unit in the upstairs bedroom would have made a world of difference. We left our vacation a day early due to the discomfort of the heat. The home has a digi-temp display in the kitchen, and at it's peak it was 95 degrees inside... the lake front breeze just couldn't keep up. The area is beautiful though, and I'd recommend this trip to my friends.
