Standard Ammenities:
We try to provide you with everything you need to have a worry-free vacation! Linens-- Included, Towels -- Included, Dish Soap, Laundry Soap, Trash bags... Included! The four watercraft are all included. We do not expect you to clean the toilets or windows-- we do that!
The kitchen is fully equipped with Kitchen Aid pots and pans and Cuisinart cutlery. We have cookie sheets, casserole dishes, measuring cups, a mixer, a blender, a toaster, etc.. If you would expect to have it at home, we have tried to provide it here too! Please let us know if we have missed anything during your stay!
The satellite has dual tuners and a DVR. You can watch different things upstairs and down or record one thing while watching another.
The Lake:
Hopkins Lake is about 1 mile long and 1/4 mile wide-- 80 acres or so. There are 41 steps down to the water's edge then the beach gracefully falls into the lake with no drop-offs until it is well over your head. We provide life preservers for young and old. The lake bottom is sandy, with a layer of plant debris that is a bit weird between your toes (it is a lake, after all). The water is clear and you can see the bottom for over ten feet when the sun is shining. It can get a little murky if you thrash around enough. The lake has no public access, which makes it a very quiet lake. The fishing is great-- bring your own pole and tackle, and you will find bass, perch, bluegill, pike and bullnose.
The Area:
We are just 10 minutes from Ludington beaches, and about 15 minutes from Pentwater. Both towns offer great shopping, dining and charter fishing. Ludington has major shopping like WalMart, Meijer, Lowes and Walgreens. Michigan Adventure is about 45 minutes South, Silver lake dune rentals is about 25 Minutes South, and the Little River casino is about 40 Minutes North.
