Hale Kokio is perfect for North Shore activities while remaining a convenient distance to points East and South. Start your day with a trip to Kilauea Town, just five minutes away, and visit the bakery, general store, 'healthy hut' or other fun shops. Hanalei, with famous bay beach, vintage plantation architecture, and eclectic shops is just a little further north. Continue further to Haena, tunnels and a look at Bali Hai. Find the trail head off Ke'e Beach for a great hike.
Numerous white sandy beaches, Larsen's, Pilaa, Secret Beach, Anini, and Rock Quarry(Kahili), are within ten minutes from Hale Kokio. Be sure to grab the beach towels,chairs and snorkeling equipment that we provide.

'In our six nights at Hale Kokio, we came to think of the house as our home, a place of respite after our busy days exploring and experiencing the island. The fully equipped kitchen and the beautifully appointed living area enhanced our feeling of being 'home' away from home. The central location of the house was also a huge plus (we spent all our time north of Kapaa). I cannot say enough good things about this house. The pictures do not do it justice, but you will find they accurately represent the size and features of the house. The patio and the gardens created a sense of seclusion and intimacy that no hotel could ever replicate. We truly felt we had stumbled upon a piece of paradise that was, at least for a short while, just ours.'

The property manager/owner is just a short distance away from the cottage. Before your arrival, this translates to detailed preparation of the cottage for you. After your arrival, you have your own source of island information just a short walk or quick phone call away. Just ask for suggestions/recommendations for massage, yoga, kayaking, fly fishing, photography, hiking, whale watching, etc. Guide books are provided in the cottage.
