Hello Vacationers! I grew up in the Mid Coast area of Maine and have lived in my lake house since 2000. I absolutely love the Maine experience it offers to both myself as well as my guests creating family and friendship memories.
I rent other properties and know what is often missing or not working. The lake house offers a different experience as all the home amenities are offered. Upgrades are common as I live here and maintain the home well. There is new carpeting in three of the rooms, a new deck sliding door, a new shed, new linens, new picnic table and more. I love to hear what other items might make your or another visitors stay more enjoyable, so please do share.
Had a great time on our first trip to Maine! The house was beautiful, with plenty of space for two families plus 1 set of grandparents.
Convenient lake access with 2 canoes and 2 kayaks for guests use. Basement had a ping pong table, which was a big hit with the kids.
Convenient to Portland for lots of dining options.
Owner was very friendly.
It is a great feeling of entering a house just as going into your own house. Seamus leaves everything in the house whcih makes everyday very easy living and more important of great fun.
The house is full of fun activities. You can play basketball, baseball, lacrosse, frisbee, pin pon, board games, etc. There is a beautiful bonfire place, children games kayaks, canoes, a very nice beach to swim in a very warm but refreshing water. There are nice place to go with your canoes look for turtles, frogs and fishes.
The location is perfect, you have all kind of shops, restaurant and amusement parks. Highly recommended Funtown and the mini golf.
We live in Chile, very very far away from Maine, but if I could return with my family again I would sure do it. Highly recommended for famiy with children.
We had a great time at your house during our vacation from July 21st to July 28th. From all the activities that were in the area to the amenities at the house, there was never a dull moment to our vacation. In fact, we need a vacation from our vacation. We had our 4 grandchildren from ages 3 to 17. Never once did anyone say “I don’t have anything to do!” From the swing set, to the game room, to the canoe and kayaks, the swimming, the fire pit, and the hot tub everyone was completely in heaven. The house was more than big enough for the 9 people there, as well as the few guests that came to visit. The kitchen was very modern and made it possible to cook anything we desired. We will definitely be back next year! Thank you for your hospitality.

We rented this house for a 50th anniversary - 6 adults and 3 children. We fell in love with it the moment we stepped through the door. It comes equipped with everything; the owners thought of it all. Plenty of activities for all ages. Very relaxing, peaceful and secluded yet Portland was only 11 miles away. The calls of the loons in the morning and night were magical! Saw 3 deer making their way across the back lawn in the morning. The boys caught a pretty good size fish too! A nice evening game of croquet followed by smores by the fire pit. Great local trails..even though the majority of the week was humid and we expected mosquitos and bugs - there was very very little of each - quite surprising considering its location. Just great all around and highly recommend to everyone!
Our group (4 adults and 3 kids) had a great vacation at this home on Highland Lake. The house was big and well laid out for families with kids (three bedrooms for adults upstairs, and lots of space for 6 or more kids downstairs). The lake was quiet and the kids absolutely adored swimming out to the float and diving off--we even floated a picnic out there on a raft one day! The very shallow around the dock was great for the little kids, although the bottom is a little mucky. We didn't catch anything but tiny fish off the dock, we're definitely not expert fisher-people! It was nice to have the hot tub and the canoes, and even the ping pong table. The grill is up on a deck near the kitchen, which made cooking out really easy. The house was very private, but so close to everything, including the drive-in movie theater!
The house was exactly as advertised and more. The kitchen was well-stocked (not one, but two lobster pots), the beds were comfortable, and the lake views were fantastic. The facilities, including use of a hot tub, kayaks, and canoe, as well as family board games and HDTV, were much appreciated. There was plenty to do, but you could also just chill in a comfortable chair on the deck or in the hammock. In addition, the owners provided a wealth of information on area attractions, shopping, and restaurants.
