PRIVATE, BEACHFRONT HOUSE ON BEAUTIFUL, LANDSCAPED GROUNDS

Kainalu House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

This is a beautiful, 1300 sq ft beachfront home which is situated on two private acres, with over 450 feet of beachfront. There are panoramic views of the ocean from all rooms. This house is for four adults only. It is perfect for one or two couples. This is an adult only rental.

The house sits only 50 feet from the water. There is a covered deck with teak rocking chairs to enjoy the spectacular setting and unobstructed views of the ocean. There is a reef off shore, which protects the shoreline waters, providing safe swimming and snorkeling year-round. We are located on the lush east end of Molokai, which is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful areas of Molokai.

We are also one of the few properties out here which is off the road, affording maximum quiet and privacy. The house itself has been designed with the aesthetic at heart and an attention to detail. It has high ceilings, wood floors, charming colors, a complete kitchen with beautiful cherry and maple cabinets and granite counter tops, and two full baths with marble counter tops.

The house is fully and elegantly furnished with beautiful leather furniture, a large mango dining table, and many one-of-kind pieces. There is beautiful artwork throughout. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and a full bath. The 2nd bedroom also has a king sized bed and full bath, and a flat screen TV with satellite .

In addition there is an enclosed outside shower, a private picnic and sitting area right on the beach and a gas barbecue. The landscaping creates the feeling that you are in a park. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.

It is very private and peaceful here. We truly offer a unique property, rarely found in Hawaii. One of our tenants said: 'It's the kind of place you find once in a blue moon. We are so lucky to have found you.'

Moloka'i Off the Beaten Path

Moloka'i Off the Beaten Path

As we flew in Makena Air’s Nine Person prop plane from Honolulu to Moloka’i, a pod of whales leapt just beneath our wings and rainbow spirals moved from cloud to cloud: it felt magical. Our two weeks at the peaceful and lovely Hale Kai were the same. We’d planned a quiet vacation and were delighted to drive the Eastern Coast tropical garden and fish pond highway to the home. We were seventeen miles from Kaunakakai and driving down the dirt road into the property took us into an oasis of ocean front beauty. Whales again, leaping in the Maui channel just beyond the reef. The house is serene and aesthetically pleasing with lovely art, hardwood floors, and sturdy but attractive furniture. The kitchen had a good supply of basic spices and oils left by earlier guests and was well provided with utensils and appliances for all kinds of cooking. We were traveling with a daughter and her husband and the home’s layout of one bedroom and bath on each side of the great room (kitchen dining sitting)gave us privacy and comfort. Although we had a large soaking tub off one bedroom and a shower-bath off the second, once we’d discovered the outdoor shower, we all used it: how lovely, day and night to be in the garden yet secluded, stone flooring underfoot and palms overhead. The water doesn’t go past thigh level all the way to the reef which makes the area like a giant wading pool — lovely water hiking along the beaches, stopping at one small cove after another. We rarely shared the water or the beach with anyone else. A couple miles beyond the property deeper water offered good snorkeling. Two miles back toward town Mana’e Goods and Grindz is a small grocery and deli which has pretty much all the basics, including fresh organic produce, if we were there in time and on the right day. Their take out is good too. We had our choice of groceries in town including great organics at the Outpost and, depending on the day, at Misaki’s and Friendly’s as well. We bought excellent fresh fish from pickups on the main street. We drove to Kumu organic farms several times as we traversed the island to visit the West Coast beaches or came back to the tiny airport for the little plane to Kaulapapa Peninsula where a heartfelt tour showed us the beauty and hardship in this remote spot where people with Hansen’s were exiled. But, mostly, we enjoyed being home, watching the sunrises, writing, sketching, and playing games while listening to ukelele music on Pandora.

The home and property in Molokai were beyond our expectations. The pictures on the website did not do it full justice - tropical, peaceful, private, secluded and just lovely. The overall house amenities were superb - excellent kitchen and so well appointed for the "chef" in all of us. The island itself was fantastic and the genuine warmth from the islanders so welcoming. We would absolutely consider and are planning our next holiday to Molokai and the beachfront estate we rented - again & again. Aloha & Mahalo, Jill & Rob North Vancouver, BC. - CDA.

Hale Kai House

Dear Jessica:

S. and I are now back in California and we are missing the beautiful Hale Kai. We had a wonderful week at your beautiful home. It is even more fabulous than it appears online--coming into the house for the first time and seeing the amazing view was really breathtaking. The home was so well appointed, comfortable, casual and very Hawaiian. We loved the solitude and the ability to just walk outside and swim, snorkel and kayak. We probably spent most of our time just sitting on the back lanai watching the ever-changing beauty of the ocean and sky. We really also enjoyed meeting our caretaker--what a great person. She was very helpful when we had questions and it was great to know she was there if we needed her.

Thank you again for providing such a wonderful place to stay. We hope to visit again (actually, we'd like to come back tomorrow, but other parts of our lives are calling).

S.N.

Wow! This place lived up to all our expectations. We spent 10 days at the house January 2012. The view from the back deck looks out over Maui. We watched wales, snorkled right out in front for the place and used the sea kayacs to explore up and down the the beach. There is a protecting reef that affords a very safe swimming and snorkling experience.
The hose is furnished with every need in mind. We spent a lot of time reading and enjoying the views and water. We took the mule ride down to the leper colony and highly recommend it.
Do your grocery shopping at Friendlies and plan on doing some cooking. We loved the place so much we didn't want to make the 17 mile trip back into town to go to dinner. This place may not be for people looking for lots of activities to do or great places to eat. But if you just want to enjoy a tropical paradise with someone, it cannot be beat..

My wife and I are habitual visitors to Molokai having returned every Christmas for the past decade. We have always rented condos on the island but wanted to treat ourselves this year to a more private setting. Wow, did we find the most amazing, tranquil, secluded, romantic beautiful hideaway that met every expectation and then some. This location is not to be missed. We were truly blessed to have had a chance to enjoy the Hale Kai Beachfront Estate!
