Book now for next summer! Enjoy the 'Adirondack cowboy feel' of this very cozy and beautifully decorated log cabin. Nestled privately in the woods, but only a short walk to the exclusive association beach and fishing dock. Lose yourself in the sounds of the forest and the peace and quiet of the mountains. Or find all the activities you could want within 15 minutes of the log cabin! Lake George, Six Flags Great Escape, Exceptional Outlet Mall Shopping, The Painted Pony Rodeo, and all outdoor mountain sports are minutes away. Truly the best of both worlds!
My sister, brother-in-law, husband and I gathered here for a Canadian Thanksgiving (Columbus Day) weekend retreat. It was an absolutely perfect weekend. The house is great - we made healthy use of both the indoor and outdoor fireplace/pit. Spent the weekend cooking, playing games, wandering the lovely quiet neighborhood and venturing up to Hadley Mountain about 30mins away for a fall day hike (highly recommended!). We had some trouble with smoke in the indoor fireplace - the flue is a bit tricky - but found if we kept the fire roaring, the smoke wasn't bad. My only wish was that we'd had an extra day. We will definitely be back!
This is a beautiful log cabin with a nice kitchen. It is comfortable and clean.
My wife, 3 children (6, 3 and 18 months) and our dog spent 3 weeks at this cabin. Location was great. Quiet, yet, very close to everything. The cabin is a safe distance from the beach; however, we all walked to the beach at least once a day. Perfect setup with Wifi, but limited cell coverage. We loved the beach and lake, going to the rodeo, taking morning walks, and visiting Lake Placid (it's worth the drive - taking a scenic flight with the kids was a blast).
This was a great place to stay and everyone in my family loved the place.
Back in January of this year, my husband and I decided that we would try our hand at renting a property in our little "piece of heaven"~ the Lake George area. After many evenings of "doing our homework, " we came upon the property at 56 Chuck Wagon in Lake Luzerne~~ 5 miles from Lake George~~~~~ we looked at the pictures, checked the price, made contact with Rich Smith (who was so kind and helpful) and decided that we would give it a shot because we liked what we saw, and, they would allow us to bring our beautiful dog, Lady.
All we can say is "WOW!!!!!!!!! From the moment we walked into the front door~we felt like we were at home~~~ and believe me we wished it was our home!!!! The pictures were accurate and the home was so very cozy, clean, and welcoming! Even though the weather was "ify", we enjoyed the times we could explore the area on foot, loved talking with the "locals", shopping, eating, and really enjoyed our evenings by the beautiful fire place. So relaxing!!!!
There are great local restaurants in the area which have "take out" and all of the fabulous attractions in the immediate area....outlet shopping, LG village shopping, and amusements for children to enjoy.
We are looking forward to returning next year!!!!! Thank you so much for having us!!!!

Since 1993 my husband and I have only rented log homes for our vacations, and this one was right up there as one of the best. The listing and pictures were very accurate, and the property and cabin were very clean and well-maintained. If you want the experience of staying in a "rustic cabin in the woods", but have most of the comforts you probably have at home, this place is ideal. The location is secluded but not isolated, meaning that there is plenty of privacy and quiet, yet there are other houses within walking distance, so you're not all alone out in the middle of nowhere (which we find comforting). We brought our Westie and Scottie, and they loved both the cabin and the area (thank you for allowing them!). There were flashlights and extra batteries, which will be necessary if you need, or want, to go walking at night, because it does get extremely dark in the woods with no street lights! The internet access was a big "selling point" for us, and we found it to be extra "necessary" as our cellular provider is AT&T and there was no service (or extremely limited service every now and again) at the cabin and in the immediate area (so you may want to keep this in mind; maybe this will change in the near future). There is a phone in the house, so if you don't have cell service, it's not like you don't have any means of communication with the world! Never having been to this part of the Adirondacks before, we were pleasantly surprised by how close we were to Lake George Village, and all the fun stuff that had to offer. There were a few good restaurants very close by (that even did "take out"), and there were plenty of places to drive to, whether the drive was with a purpose, or just to have a look around. My husband is an avid road cyclist, and said that the roads were great for cycling (good shoulders), and that there was lots of really good "climbing". We would have liked to have gone on hikes, but unfortunately it rained (poured!) for the majority of the week we were here. However, all the rain didn't put a damper on our visit -- there was still plenty to see and do without hiking muddy trails. We will certainly look forward to returning here!
Incredible area of lakes and forest, Rodeo down the street, close to Lake George, Gore Mountain and Saratoga. Great fishing, boating, hiking, horseback riding, tubing, kayaking, shopping, dining and night life.
