Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at your home very much. We were right on the beach and close to everything. The home is very comfortable and we loved the view. Would definitely come back.

Great Beach House

My family and I were very comfortable at Codger Lodge. It’s nice to find a rental that’s dog friendly! The house was just as it is pictured. There are plenty of cooking utensils, pillows and blankets. We’ll definitely consider returning.

Nothing more than a Frat house

House is in a great location however needs a tremendous amount of updating and cleaning. Every morning we woke up to a kitchen full of ants. They had gotten into everything!! Upstairs bedroom ceiling leaked during a heavy rain as well as the bedroom directly beneath it!! We had pots catching the rain! Downstairs bedroom with shower has black mold along the floor/wall and the shower leaks all over the floor when used. Tried to get rid of ants by purchasing cans of Raid at store. Stood in garage and watched the trails and trails of ants go up the walls and into the ceiling!! No wonder all the food was spoiled!! this house would be fine for a spring break destination but for anything else I wouldn't recommend it. Doesn't look like a cent has been put into it in a long, long time. Too bad.
Owner's Response: Let me respond to our unhappy tenant. Over the years we have had many, many positive reviews and none like this one. To start, we have never had any complaints about ants in the house, and in fact we exterminate on a regular basis. As for the leak, when our repair man arrived the next day to investigate the report, he found that the leak was caused by the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom being left out and water going onto the floor and leaking onto the ceiling below.

Our family house is one of the few charming older beach houses left, and many families enjoy it each year. We regret that this customer was not fully satisfied.

Great house for guy's golf trip

This house was perfect for our annual guy's golf trip. There were plenty of separate beds to accomodate 10 guys. It's location is ideal for getting to the golf courses in North Carolina.

Comfortable and convenient

We enjoyed our beach experience overall. The location - being directly on the beach - is absolutely PERFECT. The owners were accesible and flexible which helped as well. We would rent again - but truthfully - only the top half of the house as the bottom was just a little too rustic for our tastes. With this caveat in mind we would definitely recommend. The property is definitely fairly priced.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

"classic" beach houses in North myrtle, thus the "rustic" nature of the ground level rooms. Our house is a great place for family gatherings and reunions--it is even designed to be pet friendly so your "entire" family can vacation together, if you like. .
