As long time residents who love Manhattan, we will be happy to give you a New York City orientation and share some tips on places of interest that you will not find on tourist maps.
owner/property manager purchased this apartment in 2000
This is a historic area of Manhattan (Thomas Paine lived around the corner) and provides a cozy neighborhood feel with tree lined streets and no high rise buildings. It is also vibrant area with plenty of activity, sites, charm & character.
The apartment is conveniently located in the middle of Manhattan's finest neighborhood. This unique apartment is in a quiet building and yet many fun activities, sights and transportation are just steps away. All the comforts you need are provided - Our home is your home!
My husband and I stayed at this fantastic flat in the west village. The location was excellent, walking distance to many live music venues and great eateries. The subway was steps away. It was very quiet in the room. The hostess was very nice and gave us great tips. She also mailed me my skirt that was left behind. We will return again!
I decided to rent something off the beaten path for my NYC marathon. Why stay midtown, when this place was half the price? Got up early, hopped on the subway (half block from rental) and took the 1 right into Staten Island Ferry. The best thing about this place was the location though, really could not have been better. We only used the subway for a few midtown tourist locations (Guggenheim), otherwise, we walked everywhere (China Town, Soho, Meatpacking District, East Village, Chelsea, Highline Park). Marina was awesome, very accommodating and responsive throughout the entire process. The place was clean and neat. The bathroom situation was a little odd, but honestly, I really did not mind at all. Having a kitchen and lots of great shops nearby in the heart of downtown, totally made up for that small inconvenience. I would stay again in a heartbeat!
Absolutely wonderful, the perfect location! In the heart of Greenwich Village lies this absolute gem. Perfectly presented and very well maintained this amazing one bedroom had everything we needed and more! Amongst the hustle and bustle of NYC the apartment was very secure, quiet, clean and a fantastic size for the 2 of us. Marina was wonderful, beyond accommodating and a wealth of knowledge of the local area. Will be recommending to friends without a doubt and hope to re-visit again one day myself. Thankyou again, could not have been better!
My wife and I spent five nights here, and loved every minute. We lived in the West Village many years ago, and felt as if we were home instantly. Steps from the subway, a few minutes walking distance to hundreds of restaurants. Perhaps most important: although the street life is "vibrant", to say the least, the apartment is gloriously quiet. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast, but you could cook dinner there if you wanted. I worked out in three fitness facilities, all a few minutes on foot (try the boxing gym for a fantastic workout!). The toilet\shower\sink arrangement is idiosyncratic but not atypical for this part of town, and not inconvenient. Marina was exceptionally helpful, including a very rapid and effective response to a plumbing problem.
My wife and I, along with our teenage niece, stayed here for 5 nights in March, 2014. We found the apartment to be as described, and the pictures to be a good representation of what you get. The location was great - just 1/2 block from one subway stop, and a few blocks from another. We were able to get anywhere in the city with ease.
The property was clean, and all of the basic necessities were provided. The owner, Marina, was very helpful, meeting us when we arrived, and showing us around.
This is a great place to stay in New York, if you want to live like a local. We loved it.
This is a very comfortable, clean space with a wonderful hostess, Marina. She is very flexible and helpful and returns e-mails very promptly. The apartment is in a wonderful location and we would highly recommend. (can easily walk down to the river, High Line, etc.)
Hudson River walk, historical & haunted tours (Thomas Paine lived around corner), everything you need within 1 block radius (train, cleaners, laundry, banks, off Broadway theaters, drug store, coffee shops, internet cafe, smoke/liquor store, cafes, numerous restaurants, bars, entertainment, shopping boutiques & more)
