Your home away from home: After a day spent exploring the Mount Washington Valley come home and unwind in nature's peace and serenity. Relax in the screened in gazebo, listen to the birds, enjoy our perennial garden, or star-gaze from the upper level BR balconies. This meticulously maintained, ultra-clean, air-conditioned, family-friendly home features a spacious open floor plan combining the cathedral kitchen, dining and living areas. Sliders on three levels offer a fantastic view of the tranquil surroundings. One sky-lighted BR and BA are on the main floor. The upper-level includes a full BA and two queen BRs with sliders to private balconies. The walk-out, lower-level family room with adjoining BA provides a perfect gathering space for bringing everyone together or a special place for children to play. Our canoe is conveniently stored on Porridge Shore Beach, a 3 minute walk from our home. Lifejackets, paddles, floating toys, bikes, helmets, beach chairs, coolers, are on-site.
Eidelweiss Village Amenities: Our vacation home is located in Eidelweiss Village, Madison, NH. The village has 5 beaches on 3 ponds. Little Pea beach has a toddler playground. Middle Pea beach has a basketball court. 4 of the beaches have on-site restrooms and floating rafts. If you want a great vacation that doesn't cost a lot, we provide a list of at least 20 FREE things you can see and do that will take your breath away. These things are easy to find, easy to do, and will absolutely wow you! Want to see a moose? We'll tell you where. Want to see the biggest waterfall in New Hampshire? It's free. Want to see one of the world's largest Erratics? It's here in Madison and it's free. Want to see the sunrise coming up over the Valley? This overlook is nearby, absolutely beautiful, and free. Want to take in a free outdoor concert and watch the night sky light up with fireworks? Want to climb the mountain that is purported to be one of the most photographed in the world? Minutes away and free.
Lakes and Rivers: Use our canoe, and explore the Pea Porridge Ponds, or rent kayaks and canoes and take a family-friendly trip down the Saco River just 5 minutes away. It is world-famous for it's sandy bottom, sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters. The Saco, Swift and Bearcamp rivers, all located nearby, offer fine fishing and include intermediate kayaking and canoeing opportunities.
Silver Lake and Ossipee Lake are also minutes away. There you can bring your boat and experience all water sports including boating, waterskiing, jetskiing, swimming and fishing. Ossipee Marina provides watercraft rentals.
A short drive to the Umbagog Wilderness area offers the opportunity to view wildlife including moose, eagles, native fish and birds in their natural habitat.
Ski:
Nine ski areas are located within a 10 to 50 minute drive suitable for the novice to the most experienced skiers, snowboarders and tubers. King Pine, Cranmore, Black, Attitash and Bear Peak, Wildcat, Loon, Cannon, Bretton Woods and Waterville Valley offer alpine and Nordic skiing. Jackson Ski Touring and Bretton Woods are among the largest and most famous Nordic trails in all New England. Several other cross-country areas are located nearby.
Snowmobile rentals and trails are found all over the Mount Washington Valley area. Rent our home for the winter season, store your winter equipment in our garage or shed, and be minutes away from all the adventure.
Winter visitors can also enjoy sleigh rides, ice skating, snow sculptures, snow shoeing, ice climbing and dog sledding.
Golf:
There are numerous first-rate golf courses in the surrounding area including North Conway Country Club, Eagle Mountain, Wentworth Country Club and Indian Mound, to name a few. Many offer spectacular views of the mountains, rivers and lakes. All are open to the public.
