Everything at the Palicito was done with your comfort in mind with the goal of creating an atmosphere for great memories. Soft, designer linens; Gorky Gonzales table settings; Central air conditioning in addition to ceiling fans and screened windows in case you want to throw open the windows and enjoy Santa Fe's wonderful breezes. Notes: Kitchen is fully equipped. Charm plus utility. Lots of New Mexico talavera tile. All appliances are stainless steel and new in 2008. The kitchen also has a wine cave and is well equipped with dishes, pots, pans and other cooking and entertaining equipment. Patio is very private, intimate, totally walled in. In the Spring and summer it is a beautiful little garden. Peaceful jewel box of a space. The Balcony is off one of the master suites. It is a perfect place for a glass of wine. View is really huge Cottonwood trees and a glimpse of the mountains. Very pleasant for right downtown.

The art and decor--Santa Fe emersion: The dancing bears sculpture was created by Jinxie Hughes, a talented, eccentric Santa Fe character who came from big Texas oil money. These particular bears, in their bigger-than-life version were commissioned for the San Diego Zoo. You will enjoy the maquette. The painting of the color drenched chilies has 'wall power' to use the phrase coined by a former Director of the National Gallery of Art. The painting could have been painted by Georgia O'Keeffe if the New Mexican artist icon had painted the New Mexico chile icon. If the chiles aren't to your taste, as my husband hypothesizes, they could have been created for a painting on velvet. Anyway, the truth is that Mark Miller, the famed chef of the original Coyote Cafe commissioned the painting and it was selected as the promotional poster for the first Wine and Chile festival in the mid-1980s. Whether you fall in love with it or not, it goes with the table! The chief's blanket is a colorful artifact that dates back to the 1920s.
