L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue House Rental Photos and Description

House, 5 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

An elegant house from the 19th century and set off a road just outside the historic town of L'isle Sur la Sorgue. Famous for its waterways and antique shops and markets, L'isle Sur la Sorgue is also full of delightful cafes, restaurants and a maze of winding streets and hidden historic buildings. The house is a five minute walk from the centre of town.

All this and set in a region of culture, heritage and architectural delight not to mention the walks, rides and drives in amazingly beautiful scenery and is a voyage of discovery- breathtaking province. The house is on the outskirts of town and is covered with Virginia creeper- and called 'la maison poynder' (my maiden name!)

It nestles beside the road to Carpentras and once through the wide front entrance hall, as was the tradition in old houses, you discover a haven of tranquility and peace and head towards the leafy garden and glistening pool. The garden is full of delightful places to sit, read and eat at various times of the day according to your taste in light or shade.

On the first floor, to the front of the house, are three large, pretty double bedrooms each with a colour theme and decorated to a high standard. The bathrooms are all complete with baths are adjacent to each bedroom. Two of the bedrooms have double beds and the third has two single (which can be put together) all the bedrooms have large hanging cupboards.

To the rear of the house are two further bedrooms with an adjacent shower room with basin and wc. One of the bedrooms is the 'master bedroom' complete with four poster bed and the other has two singles together as a large double bed both pretty and overlooking the garden. The house was originally two houses and therefore has two staircases!

Cots and high chairs available as I have five grandchildren!

Inside the house on the ground floor, fabulous high ceilings, open fireplace, squishy sofas, armchairs and a large round dining table in the

large sitting/dining room; a good sized fully equiped kitchen, a delight to create gourmet meals or not! in; a fully equipped laundry room with an old fashioned drying pulley; a study/tv room for lounging/watching and listening( or working if you need!) and last, but not least an elegant formal dining room. Also a ground floor wc with basin.

There is also a 'garage appartment' for rent on a weekly basis and is completely self contained. It has a large double bed anda single bed with a separate shower/bathroom. A large spacious living room with kitchen and a small outside sitting area. Sleeps2/3

.The house is available to rent on a weekly basis during June/July/August and September.

The 'garage appartment is oly for rent out of season.

Rooms are available to rent by the night during the rest of the year.
