Guest Comments: We would like to thank you both for allowing us to rent your “home away from home”. It is SO nice! It is in the perfect location to do everything. We just love the décor. You could just tell that every detail was thought out perfectly.
As far as the amenities, well a FIVE STAR HOTEL as nothing on you!! You certainly go overboard with what you offer. We appreciated the 300 thread-count sheets, bath towels, beach chairs, kitchen pans, utensils, coffee filters, gas grill, etc.
We had a fabulous week!! Got 9 hours sleep every night, which has become a rare event. The weather was perfect, with a nice breeze coming off the water to keep us cool. We had good meals, walked into the village, rode bikes, and basically RELAXED and enjoyed spending quality time together.
Thanks again for everything we look forward to returning,
Sue and Walt
This sweet condo is generously provisioned, bright, and super comfortable with every need anticipated and covered. Its location is perfect with easy parking, welcoming access, and maximum customer service. Good restaurants, shopping and necessities are only a block away. The quality of the furnishings, linens and products was especially enjoyable, and I recommend this property with enthusiasm.
What can I say, other than we loved it. Lisa delivered on exactly what she promised. The condo was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable to be in. We made some nice meals at home in the kitchen, and it was so nice that some ordinary provisions were already there for our use. It was almost like a friend was loaning us their apartment. She even had a basket of local trail info, for biking and hiking, with hand-written notes. Zero complaints, great value, wonderful spot. Southwest Harbor is much nicer than Bar Harbor if you're trying to get away. We also rented a boat to tour the local harbors, went to see seals at the island. Rode bikes, fantastic week. We would definitely return and recommend this rental.
We stayed at Ebb Tide with our two daughters (ages 10 and 15), and were absolutely delighted with the apartment. It is immaculately clean, stocked with absolutely everything we needed (including basic food supplies), very comfortable, and on top of all that, very nicely decorated. Lisa, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with.
The location is very practical. A two-minute walk to Southwest Harbor's main area, with a variety of restaurants, bakeries, etc. (don't miss trying Cafe 2/Eat-a-Pita, it was one of our favorites on MDI). And a reasonable drive (15-20 mins) to Bar Harbor and main entrance to Acadia National Park.
The only minor downside was traffic noise early in the morning, as bedroom windows face the main road. One room has an A/C, which we used to keep the room quiet. It wasn't a big deal, but if you're a light sleeper and want to sleep late, be aware.
That said, we were thoroughly satisfied, and would return anytime. And MDI/Acadia is an absolutely wonderful place to visit, especially when blessed with the great weather we had the third week of August.
Thank you, Lisa!
We enjoyed our stay at the Ebb-Tide in Southwest Harbor very much. The condo was clean and comfortable. It was very handy having a kitchen and washer/dryer. The beds were also very comfortable. We enjoyed the location outside of the Bar Harbor crowds, but it was only a 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor when we wanted to be there. It's a short drive to some very nice shoreline areas on the south end of the island, or to Echo Lake which was great. We also highly recommend a visit to the nearby Atlantic brewery for some great microbrews and some of the best ribs anywhere. We had a great time and would definitely do it again.
We had a great time in Maine staying at Ebb Tide! With three young children, it was nice to stay in a condo with all the amenities. We ate breakfast there each morning, and made dinner there several nights. The town is within walking distance and we often walked up for ice cream after dinner. Ebb Tide was very clean and very comfortable. None of us had any trouble sleeping! The washer and dryer came in very handy. Most days, we drove over to Acadia National Park or to Bar Harbor. It was an easy drive to both. On the Quiet Side of the island, we discovered Echo Lake, a great place to swim with kids. We appreciated all of Lisa's recommendations of places to eat and to see!! She has great taste!! Thanks for everything! Heather and Brian
my boyfriend and i, along with another couple, stayed here for 4 nights over labor day weekend. it was a great, hassle-free experience. lisa, the proprietor, was extremely helpful and professional. she offered to make reservations at restaurants, recommended activities. when we arrived, there were maps and recommendations for places to see, trails to hike on the table for us. this is a house that is meticulously clean and organized. there were labels for literally everything. one of the nights, we cooked a lobster in the kitchen and also used the grill outside. the kitchen is fully stocked not only with pots and pans, but also spices, teas, etc. there are 2 nicely decorated bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen-size bed. there was some street noise from the street outside, but it wasn't an issue unless you left the windows open. in terms of location, it's right next to the main street in Southwest Harbor, which is only a few blocks, but still has restaurants, bars and shops. i am so glad we stayed in Southwest Harbor versus Bar Harbor. it was so much cuter and more quaint.
