|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
As the story goes, this cottage was once a distillery that crafted rye rum and corn whiskey for sale in Philadelphia. Located within a beautiful setting with natural and historical wonders to explore, we are a small family farm raising sheep, goats, alpacas, chickens...and cats. A rustic experience awaits!
- Relax on the front porch, enjoy your favorite beverage and listen to the sounds of the Conewago Creek.
- Help with barn chores. Or just view the animals grazing from your perch on the front porch.
- Receive a tour of this Historic Mill and property.
- Take a leisurely stroll through the woods & wetlands trail on the property.
-Walk or ride your bike from the Mill to Mt. Gretna (12 miles) on the Conewago Rail Trail located right across the creek. While there, visit the regionally famous 'Jigger Shop' for some ice cream (open seasonally), swim at the lake, attend the annual art festival in August.
-Great central location for sight seeing & history inspired tours. Guests have taken trips to Gettysburg, Hershey Park, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York City.
-We are happy to offer suggestions of things to do. Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine tour/steam train ride & a visit to nearby Centralia is one of those special unusual side trips that we love (approx 1hr 30 mins away) http://www.pioneertunnel.com/home.shtml
From the 200+ year old houses and mill to the peaceful creek flowing over huge boulders, we knew this was a special place to raise our family and animals.
Watching the sheep graze from the swing on the guest house's front porch.
We stayed at Miller's Cottage for a weekend trip to Hershey, PA which is an easy 10 minute drive to downtown. This cottage could not have been more perfect. Its so quiet and peaceful on the property but still has every modern amenity that you could need. Katcha was a joy to communicate and work with and we very much enjoyed the treats provided for us. We enjoyed seeing the different animals in the front yard each morning and enjoyed the company of the cats on the porch. Not even the rain could dampen our spirits while staying at the cottage and as I mentioned its so easy to get to downtown Hershey from this location. Definitely recommend for an enjoyable, relaxing, rejuvenating weekend.
This is our 5th year renting from HomeAway and it was by far our favorite stay! The property is just filled with history and a story waiting to be told. Lucky for us the owner was willing to tell it! We were given a tour of the Mill and a history lesson that kept even two teenage girls wanting more. The home was beautiful and the property was so fun to explore. Katcha and Merritt will know that our favorite part were the animals. We fell in LOVE with all of the kitties. Stu, Pope, Rita, Broken, Pumpkin.....just to name a few. And then the kittens....oh the tiny kittens. My daughter and I actually teared up when leaving the farm and having to say goodbye to those dear cats.
The location of the property was perfect. With just short drives we were able to visit Gettysburg, Hershey World in Hershey, Pa, Lancaster for antiquing, and the amazing mall in King of Prussia, Pa.
A visit to Millers Cottage at Aberdeen Mills will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful week at the Miller's Cottage! The girls (ages 4 and 7) loved being on a farm. They had a blast with the animals and "helping" with the chores. It was a relaxing time waking up to the roosters and listening to the creek.
The cottage was well stocked including a lot of toys, books, and movies. The girls were always excited to get back to the farm after sight-seeing to play. The location was central to visit several destinations-we went to the North Museum in Lancaster, Chocolate World in Hershey, and the Strasburg Railroad.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the mill and learning some of the history of the farm. We definitely would like to return for another stay and see the progress on the mill's restoration.
Thank you again for something "out of the ordinary". The girls are still talking about it!
My family of five (three kids ages 9, 7, and 4) absolutely loved our time here! After two days of parks and coasters, our third day in Hershey consisted of nothing but swimming in the river, playing with the animals, and enjoying the great outdoors. What a relaxing vacation!
I can't think when I've enjoyed any place more! It's just as advertised--beautiful, comfortable, and rural without being isolated. The owners are not only welcoming and kind, but great conversationalists as well. All in all, Miller's Cottage is the sweetest spot this side of a villetta di campagna in Tuscany.
This place is an absolute perfect get away. The owners has taken time to provide and think of anything that any type of family would need. The owners are very accomodating and more than willing to help out and answer any questions. The property was very clean and had a charm about it that is hard to describe. Every morning my family looked forward to watching the animals, listening to the roosters crow, and playing with the cats. None of us wanted to leave. The mill tour was great and provided our family with a unique historical look at life in the 1700's. We are looking forward to coming back to this house for another vacation.
