Nice home but beware of owner claiming damages

Contact with the owner was easy and he seemed very nice. We travel to St George several times a year for baseball tournaments and this home is very central.

When we arrived at the home we liked the feel of the home. There were various parts of the home that didn't work well (front door, one of the beds, shower, etc) but it is a very old home so we didn't think it was a problem.

One thing we did not like was the amount of dead cockroaches throughout the home. Some under the bed and also on the front porch.

Our real problem was after we left.

The owner tried to claim that we didn't return the keys and he tried to claim that we damaged parts of the home that were pre-existing.

There are plenty of good vacation rentals in the area. We will not return to this home, nor will we recommend this to any friends.
