Fabulous view--Across the street from Ocean--In the Heart of South Beach--WOW! factor for Decor.
Location--Beauty--Lots of windows--etc.
This place is great.
We really had a great time in SOBE. The highlight of the trip was Barbizon 104A. While I have been coming to SOBE very often for the past 10 years, this was my first time staying at the Barbizon and it was simply awesome. The view from 104A allowed me to "people watch" and was better than watching TV. The large flat screen tv on wheels allowed me to slide it over to watch comfortably from the bed room or the living room. That throw rug on the floor was so comfortable and clean that my friend laid there each night falling asleep.
We were simply impressed. Loved Barbizon 104A
My husband and I came down to South Beach and stayed here for a month. We had such an amazing time! The place is very safe, handicap accessible, and the most polite front desk clerk ever. Laundry is on site which is very convenient. We even took our dog with us, who loved it even more :)
When you walk outside of the condo, South Beach has the most beautiful beaches! All restaurants and shops are all walking distance, no need to drive anywhere. The Art Deco Welcome Center is a few blocks away which is a really neat place to go visit.
I will definitely be coming back to visit in the future!
Myself and 2 other girls stayed for 4 nights. It was not what we expected at all, and was not large, more like a studio. It was not very clean. There was hair on the floor, dust everywhere and make up on the couch. We also thought we would save some money by cooking breakfast and making lunch at the condo and the kitchen was not sanitary. There was a used dish sponge, and the silverware draw contained both tools and silverware. We contacted our point of contact during our trip and nothing was done. Also, the lighting was horrible. One of the lights blew out and we were told it was a special bulb and couldn't be replaced at the moment. We asked for another fixture and were no accommodated. I have stayed in this building before in another suite and my stay was great, this time, not so much. I would only recommend this space because of the location, but that is all.

The apartment is well represented in the photos but has since redecorated with white walls throughout, some changes to accent decor and kitchen updates. I stayed for a full week (Monday - Monday) partially alone and felt comfortable coming and going. The manager was nice and answered any questions I had regarding the place. I din't use the pull-out couch so I don't know how comfortable it is to sleep on and you should also know that the wall that divides the bedroom has cute glass french doors with the bathroom inside the bedroom.
There were plenty of towels, sheets, cleaning supplies and soap which was a nice surprise. It was easy to walk to the beach, up Ocean Drive, to the Publix market, restaurants/shopping and to the bus stop a 2 blocks away. It was clean and the air worked great! The windows could use an exterior power wash, but I enjoyed my stay!
I was there for an event held off of Collins at Lincoln and had no getting there everyday. It is walkable, but in the heat I would suggest taking the South Beach Local for 25 cents or getting a bus pass. I also took the Route 150 bus from/to the airport. CVS and Walgreens are very close by as well as parking garages but I didn't have a car and heard parking could be expensive. The beach is literally across the street which because of the tight schedule I was on allowed me to go early in the mornings or evenings when I was free.
I am a pretty light sleeper and I didn't have a problem sleeping through the party going on outside, but I was very much aware and had no problems sleeping after a long day of being on the beach and soaking up the sun. This was my first time renting and would stay here again and also recommend it to others. The renting process was easy considering I was booking last minute and I felt confident paying through HomeAway unlike other owners who wanted my card info or cash. Staying here had me considering finding and buying a property for myself.
We stayed in the apartment for a month. We had the chance to meet the owner who was very nice and went out of their way to make sure that we had a good time. Nothing was too much trouble and any questions we had were always dealt with swiftly. We had a great time, the apartment is exactly as the pictures, it is very well located, we had no complaints at all. We were so pleased we are currently planning a return journey which will be for another month in 2013.
This condo was very light and bright, newly renovated and updated, and very clean. No problems with the appearance of the condo. The problem we had was with noise. This condo is on the first floor. The first night we were there, the tenants above us were playing very loud music with loud base when we were trying to sleep. A few nights later, early in the morning, someone was running around in the condo above us for about an hour, and bouncing a ball, making it hard to sleep as it made quite a bit of noise. And, whenever someone opened a door on the same floor as our condo, it sounded like the front door to our unit was opening, which was startling late at night. They were also installing windows in the other units in the building during the day, which was not very relaxing/peaceful.
This condo would be fine for those planning on fully enjoying the south beach nightlife, or for heavy sleepers; but for light sleepers like me, the noise alone might be reason not to rent this condo. I will say, though, that the newly installed windows kept out much of the noise from the strip. And, the unit is right across from the beach and close to all the action on the strip, but not right in the heart of it, making the location great!
If not for the noise, we would have been very pleased with this condo.
