Can't Go Wrong With this Rental!

We rent our home through VRBO and knew throughout the rental process that these owners had the system down. They were very easy to communicate with and get paperwork, deposits, local information, etc. They made made some great recommendations on Restaurants, Jeeps tours, local sightseeing. When we arrived we were so impressed with the home; the decorating, the location, cleanliness, great patio, and the special touches like bottled water and the Red Rock pass. We had 5 people and were very comfortable. Perhaps the best attribute is the closeness to the Sugarloaf Mountain trailhead. It is a 10 minute walk and provides easy access to one of the less traveled hikes. We went up early one morning and liked the proximity and view so much we returned for sunset that evening. Sandwiched in between was a jeep rental we did on our own that Carol suggested. Highly recommend this over the guided pink 'tours'. Stay here- you will be happy you did- and you may get to see a Javelina in the backyard like we did!

Perfect!

We arrived home from Arizona a couple of days ago and still wish we were back at Carol and Gil's house in Sedona. I was hesitating to write this review, because their house is the best kept secret of the city and we are not sure we want to let everyone else know about it! The house is an older adobe style, but completely renovated and beautifully decorated inside. It has class, style and comfort. A one story house with three bedrooms and lots of open space. The kitchen is modern and it's easy to prepare meals there. After lots of hiking, sigthseeing, shopping etc. we would look forward to coming back to the house and relax with a glass of wine in front of the big screen TV. The absolute best part of the house are the big windows that give an exceptionally demanding view of the mountains in the back of the neighborhood. In fact, even though the house is in the middle of a neighborhood, you wouldn't know it when you are inside the house or on the patio where you see these beautiful mountains. Our kids loved sitting outside in the morning with their breakfast and watching all the different kinds of birds flying from tree to tree. The location of the house is perfect, because you are in the middle of everything; red rocks, short drive to different hiking spots, close to shops, galleries and restaurants and easy day trips to Jerome, ruins and other sites. We loved the short hike to "Gil's Hill", also known as Sugarloaf Mountain. The view from there is spectacular and you can see the house from up there if you look closely, as well as the city of Sedona and lots of mountains all around! Let's not forget that Carol and Gil have thought of everything from extra towels to backpacks and coolers and the bagels, fruit and cream cheese when we arrived for next morning's breakfast! Also the strong and sturdy walking sticks that came in very handy during our West Fork hiking trip! We absolutely loved the house, loved our trip and loved Sedona. We will be back!! Thanks guys! :0)

Nice house in a nice place

This was our second visit to Arizona. First time Tucson, now Sedona. Two completely different experiences, both unforgettable. These red rocks make you feel like you are on a different planet. I don't think I could live here (too hot for me), but definitely worth a vacation to clear up an overworked mind. 7 days, 7 hikes, all started early morning. The best ones for us was Bear and Doe mountains. For my 60-year old mom Bear mountain was difficult, but she made it. Doe mountain top has some very peaceful places for meditation. Our 10 and 8 years old daughters enjoyed both. We also visited Grand Canyon.
The house was nice, it had all we needed, and everything was of good quality, unlike many other rentals we visited. Thank you Carol, for sharing it with us! Slav and family.
Owner's Response: We are so pleased to learn that you and your family found red rock country as intriguing as we do, Slav. There is so much to be seen and enjoyed there! And, as you've noted, there are many hiking opportunities in Sedona, some ideal for less experienced hikers and others for more advanced.

Thank you for the kind words about our house and the quality of its furnishings. We hope you'll tell your friends about our place, and that you will return. We'd be delighted to have you as our guests again!

We had a wonderful week in Sedona celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. This home was the most comfortable, convenient place we have ever rented. It is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need. There is magnificent hiking and red rock views right outide your door. Carol, the owner was so helpful in giving us suggestions on restaurants etc. We ate at all of her favorites and loved everone of them. We will definetely be back!

Sedona comfort and privacy

Submitted: March 29, 2011 Stayed: March 2011
We stayed in this lovely home for 18 nights and were glad every day for the comfort and convenience it provided. The house design provides privacy for guests as much as the many windows provide an expansive outdoor connection. The house is sited in such a way that even though neighbors are fairly close you maintain a totally private feeling along with the gorgeous red rock views in the back. Any question or problems are quickly attended to by a local caretaker/handyman. Being only two short blocks from a trailhead was another big plus. You could use it for shorter hikes or as a connector to much longer treks. Our time spent here was really enhanced by having the convenience and flexibility that staying in this house provided.
