Bring The Boat, Jet Ski, Etc., Located on the best kept secret in Gulf Shores, this 4 bedroom, 2 bath home sits on the beautiful Little Lagoon- an estuary flowing into the Gulf of Mexico that is 9 miles long and about 1/2 mile wide at our location. Enjoy breath taking sunsets and quiet mornings watching the pelicans, osprey and herons from the great covered deck.
The home is perfect for single family getaways with 'lots of places to be'. The concrete area underneath is just the place for children on rainy days or just to get out of the midday sun. The private pier is great for crabbing or fishing ( a 4# flounder last week) or just sunbathing. Children will love splashing in the shallow water or scooping hermit crabs while you relax in the hammock or swing underneath the house.
Bring a cast net and catch your own seafood supper- we often catch enough shrimp casting the net off the pier.
Once You Stay On The Little Lagoon- You Will Always Come Back.
We are LAGOON LOVERS. We have owned our Gulf Shores property since 1985 and enjoyed watching our children and grandchildren enjoy countless hours on the pier, fishing, throwing a net, or crabbing. They have water-skied, tubed and been a million miles around the shores of the Little Lagoon. We are both retired abd now enjoy the revenue created by our second home and do some traveling ourselves.
Gail Harris purchased this house in 1996
We both feel THE LITTLE LAGOON is the best kept secret in Gulf Shores and it is perfect place for multi-family getaways. The house is equipped with everything you would need to feed our crew.
Private pier, covered deck for watching those great sunsets and early morning coffee. The deck is my favorite place of all. Underneath there are several sitting areas that afford a QUIET getaway should you need a break from the crowd. All is ALL, I think our house is the PERFECT place although it is not HIGH-END it is very comfortable and inviting and a great place to stay.
We came, we fished, we swimmed, we crabbed, we visited relatives in Mobile, we were tourist, we left happy and exhausted! The house was perfect for 3 adults, 2 boys and 1 teen-age girl - everyone had their own bedroom. Our real fisherman of the family was our 14 year old granddaughter - she learned how to cast a net and fished to her heart's content. Best equipment kitchen I have ever seen in a rental property - any size pot or pan you could want. Owners are extremely nice and helpful!
Our visits to this home began when our daughter was in high school We have celebrated family graduations, birthdays, our daughter's engagement, the births of three grandchildren, anniversaries, and much more at "Little Lagoon ". We love the fact that this home has such a welcoming atmosphere and makes us feel so at home. Access to Little Lagoon and the pass takes you away from the traffic and busy activities of the main beach. It is like your own little paradise just minutes away from all the hustle and bustle. We love crabbing, boating, fishing, swimming, and hanging out in the breezeway under the house. One of our favorite activities is sleeping in the hammock. We continue to make wonderful family memories thanks to the owners who have become our dear friends.
This house has something for everyone! My husband loved having a fishing pier. He was out there before the family would get up and every chance he could through the day. Him and my son caught fish and hermit crabs. If you want to relax the deck is the place to be. With it being a covered deck you could set in the heat of the day or while it rains. If you like sunsets don’t forget your camera! The house has an open floor plan and comfortable. It is the first place we have stayed that actually had enough furniture and it was comfortable furniture. It was nice having the laundry room on the living level. Some of our family had rented a house down the road for a lot more money and their house wasn’t nearly as nice or maintained as well. The location is great. The ocean is so close. You have Pier 33 grocery/convenient store for pretty much anything you need with very friendly people. It was right beside our favorite places like The Oyster House, Cricos Pizza, Lamberts Throwing Rolls and The Little Zoo that could. My husband really likes fishing with OutCast for deep sea and bay fishing. This house had little extras that show the owners care. There was a nice stereo if you didn’t want to watch tv and games for the family. The owners were so nice and so easy to deal with.
This was our third time to stay here and we are ready to go again! We have two daughters and three young grandchildren and this place has plenty of room for everyone. We really like the layout with all the bedrooms on one end of the house and the living area on the other end so those that want to turn in early can and the night owls can stay up without disturbing the sleepy heads. Next morning, those that want to sleep in never hear the early birds. We especially love the porch that looks out over the lagoon for visiting, playing with the grandchildren or enjoying a good book. We take our kayaks, leave them by the water's edge and we are ready to go for a paddle any time of day. One day the children needed to get out of the sun so they played all afternoon on the cement patio under the house while grandmother enjoyed the swing - perfect! We think this house is the perfect beach get-a-way. Even when Gulf Shores is crowded, life on the lagoon is quiet and peaceful... Joe and Susan Palmer
The pictures and description are spot on. The house is clean and neat and had everything we needed. You can walk down to the beach or it's a 2 minute drive to a few free beaches or 5 dollar parking. The deck and dock are great when you're not at the beach. Plenty of parking and the house could comfortably sleep 8 in beds. Would definitely stay again. Also close to all the stores and restaurants but without being in the middle of all the traffic.
